Every piece locked in with little effort. This was the second floor I have installed, Lifeproof is the way to go. I choose the thicker 12mm plank this time and was very pleased with the result. I’m wanting to start another room, tried to order some more Gainsboro Oak but it’s out of stock. When it comes back in stock l will be installing another floor.

This is the first floor of this type I have installed and I found it very difficult to properly install. Now, to be fair, I was trying to install under some edges that prevented me from being able to lift and angle the boards easily. So, IF you have an area that is wide open, AND you can cover edges with a molding, then you would likely have a much easier time. What I like - the material is a half inch think, and for my purposes that worked out really well. The finished look and feel is really nice. What I didn't like - It's some kind of a particle composite material and edges are easily damaged - you need to be careful. If you are not careful connecting the boards you won't get a nice tight fit. I noticed one of the butt joints on mine needed another whack to get it seated properly (you can hear it when it fits right). Getting started is really tough - boards tend to dislodge as you are tapping in the next piece. Overall it came out good, but it was a lot harder to install than I expected.

I installed my floor over the Home Depot QuiteWalk underlayment. I have included a photo. It provides a water barrier, thermal barrier and sound deadening to protect and quiet your floor. I have installed a lot of floating floors over the years. I have used the adhesive strips, click to lock, snap, etc... All have had one problem or the other when it came to putting them together. They either break the edge or you have to hammer them to death. The LifeProof has two features that make it super easy to install. One is the beveled edges which allow you to position the flooring and then just drop it into place. No banging with a rubber mallet or a special tool. You can remove the plank just as easy, just raise up the edge and it comes apart. The second is the stress relief groove cut in the bottom of the plank. This helps in installation as well. i ordered the Life Proof Gainsboro Oak laminate flooring but i received 5 cartons of Life Proof Tattersall Hickory laminate flooring instead. i have not decided if i am going to install the Tattersall Hickory where i had planed to put the Gainsboro Oak or to find a different use for it because of the drastic color difference. both products have the same specifications and are exactly the same except for the color and the wood grain pattern so i can tell you what i think of the product in general. it seems to be a nice laminate that is 12 mm thick and is very real looking with a lot of wood grain detail and beveled edges. it seems to have a good locking system so installation should be fairly easy if you have any past experience with laminate flooring. the only complaint i have is that it doesn't have padding attached to the back of the flooring so you have the added expense of purchasing padding and more time spent installing the padding before the floor can be put down. an added good point is that it is water resistant and it should hold up well to kids, pets and heavy foot traffic without any problems.

I would recommend this product to anyone whom is doing a remodeling or just want to refresh a room with a newer look and more modern look. This product is very nice looking and looks high end and that it is a modern looking wood flooring and actually is a tongue and groove interlock system that is not hard to install with included easy to follow instructions but I would highly recommend professional installation as not to loose Lifetime residential warranty. Product comes in planks with 6 planks per box 5 boxes per case.

Water and scratch resistance are a plus with this 12mm laminate. This laminate is water resistant up to 24 hours. The tongue and groove edges are an improvement over previous laminate I have installed. The planks fit together well with no gaps in between planks. The ends of the planks are beveled for a nice finished appearance. This laminate is low gloss and has a wood texture so it is not slippery. It can be installed on any grade and on concrete or wood. My project involves laminating a family room and the brown/grey colors fit with just about any décor or room color. I am about 50% finished with my project and it looks very nice. It cuts cleanly. As it is a full 12mm laminate it is durable and easy to install. The price point is good and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty for residential installations. It shipped for free from Home Depot!

This flooring is nothing you want i have found it was not cut straight on the ends so it sticks up doesn’t lock and breaks off the ends do not get this junk

Nice looking product but difficult to install.

My sister bought this to put in her house. I am a contractor and I’ve installed miles of flooring of every kind. This floor was a nightmare! No matter what i did it wouldnt stay together. Kept separating. Its sad too because she doesnt have extra money to spend. This product is garbage and the home depot should refund anyone who was unfortunate enough to end up with it.

Floor looks beautiful! Basic installation without little to no issues. Quality is amazing!! This is my 4th floor in the last 11 months & so far this has to be the best for the money.

Found out this type of floor wasn’t waterproof like I requested, Cost me more money, extra cost for my pick up driver, and unnecessary time.
