It will eventually fall off.
If the sun hits it directly it will eventually fall off. Vinyl expands greatly due to heat. And then it will retain it's shape when it cools. Over time it will lose it's grip. you have to at least put a screw in the middle or it will fall off.

Fits most doors, you may have to do a little trimming to get the perfect fit, but was worth it.

I'm very pleased with this entry door seal! It's ALL vinyl, and is 36" wide but it can be easily trimmed to fit doors that are narrower than 36". The cross-section is U-shaped, and it holds by compression against both sides of the door with no screws. Installation could not be easier. It simply slides onto the bottom of an opened door. I did not have to take the door off the frame to install it. It grips the door very tightly and I don't anticipate that it will need any adjustments in the future. It is very unobtrusive once installed. As shown in the picture I've posted, each of the fins that fit tightly against the threshold is coated with diatomaceous earth, a natural, completely non-toxic substance made up of the fossilized shells of tiny, aquatic diatoms. These abrasive particles form scratches on the exoskeletons of any bugs that manage to squeeze under the door seal and this damage kills them. It is completely safe for homes and will not harm pets or children.in any way. The installation instructions are very well written and anyone can install this door seal. The only tools needed would be whatever you use to take an existing door seal off, and then a hammer to coax the new seal into place since it becomes difficult to slide on in the last 8" or so. It is designed to fit doors that are 1-3/4" thick, which I believe is the standard thickness of an entry door.

The 36” Deny Under Door Seal is embedded with diatomaceous earth that scratches the surface of insects that try to breach the barrier and consequently dehydrate and die. I was happy to read on the label that diatomaceous earth consists of fossilized shells of diatoms and occurs naturally. Installation was simple enough. I was able to remove the old, worn under door seal without removing the door -great! Our 36” door measures 34 3/8” and cutting the vinyl Deny Under Door Seal to size with a hacksaw as directed was as easy as described. I gently tapped the new Under Door Seal (Taller side facing indoors as directed) into place using a dead blow hammer. The Deny Under Door Seal withstood the tapping. The Under Door Seal does not require nails or screws to keep in place. The whole installation operation took less than 5 minutes with locating the hacksaw taking the most time. The lips of the Deny Under Door Seal are significantly higher than the original under door seal but I like the look and appreciate the extra protection for the door. I just painted an exterior door and replaced the under door seal with one that doesn’t have the higher lips and there are already scratches in the paint just above the seal. That Deny Under Door Seal should prevent that. I can’t believe I’m this excited about an under door seal and plan to buy more of them for other doors. This is a great product.

The bottom of my side garage door has damage where interior material has rotted and fallen out. I got this under door seal/sweep to prevent moisture from making the situation worse. I used wood filler and spray foam to fill the space and installed the door seal. Installation took minutes and was very easy. It fit perfectly after trimming to length, is very sturdy, and covers the gap at the bottom of the door which should prevent further damage and bugs getting into the garage. It’s a good temporary solution because one day the door will have to be replaced.

Looking forward to keeping the creepy crawlies out of my garage office. I received this item in exchange for a review. The door seal came with good instructions for cutting down the seal if it is wider than your door. Once I had trimmed it down with a hacksaw it fit just fine. The seal uses diatomaceous earth in the fins at the bottom to get rid of any bugs that rub up against the fins. Do be careful when trimming the fins. In retrospect I think I would have been better off trimming them with a box knife rather than continuing with the hacksaw. The seal fits fairly tightly against the door but if it is a bit loose I would use a bit of double sided gorilla tape or some small brads to secure the seal.

This is about the easiest DIY job around, depending on the clearance beneath your door to the base. If you are too close (I'd say 3/8" or less) the fins will be bent over dramatically and break off after a short time in use. Too high (3/4 "" and they won't seal, but you can probably adjust how tightly the seal is placed to the door. This seal basically slides on along the length of the bottom of the door while you have it open. You probably will need to gently tap the end with a hammer, but not hard, then pry up so it is fits tight to the bottom of the door (or some space if the gap is too big. If the space between the door bottom and the step base is around 1/2" the seal will be pushed up tight to the bottom of the door and friction will easily hold in place. If you need some space because the gap is large you can keepthe seal in place with some small brads hammered through the seal sides into the door. This particular seal has this bug proofing embedded and its too soon for me to know if that does anything, but the seal is good, if you can hit the sweet spot for height. ALso too soon to know how this will last. I know the one I replaced with this one lasted a couple of years before the fins started breaking off, but that may be because I had them bending over too much for lack of proper clearance. Also, my door opens in which is usual so I installed backwards of the way you are instructed. Look at the fins and you see one side has the first fin at an angle - that's the side that is t=on the side of the door in the direction of the swing open. Given these cautions, I recommended this seal. Whether it's a good value depends on if those fins last a reasonable time, and that depends on your install. Good luck!

It fits tightly on the bottom of the door. You may need a good pair of shears to trim it, as household scissors will not cut the plastic. Overall an easy and effective fix for drafts. ?

Could not close door properly after installation, it's just thick enough to hold the door away from the jam far enough that the deadbolt would not close either.

So far, so good. It went on the door with a little help from tapping with a rubber hammer and wedging up form the bottom with a flat bar. It seems to be securely gripping the door (without screws, to stay in place 'Sure beats replacing the door.
