It is designated as a finish sander, and is not a heavy duty type sander that removes large amounts of material. It's exactly what I need for the type of work I do, and perfect for the final sanding(s) for a finish. It's sized right and handles nicely.

It was bought to replace my 40 year old Makita palm sander that was worn out. This one should last just as long.

Excellent vibrating sander for the price!! Saved me hours of sanding by hand.

Excellent quality product felt comfortable in the hand and could use for extended periods of time. Would have been nice to have a hard case included in the purchase, but the option was not available.

Did not pick up enough of the dust

I purchased this sander from Home Depot store in Cornelia Ga. Although their website showed the Makita sander would come with a hard case l was told they didn’t have a case for it. I still bought the sander as I needed one quickly, shame I didn’t get the case. The sander is excellent, good value for money, well made and easy to handle, it grips the 1/4 sheet very firmly but it pays to cut the sandpaper accurately which helps with folding the paper into the securing bars. I’ve purchased several Makita power tools and rate them all highly.

The operation is fine But it does not hold 1/4 sheet of sandpaper easily..Not as good as the older model.

I used to sand a door frame and door that I will be painting. Loved it, cut my time in half. It’s light and easy to work with.

Good sander , I did over my dinner room table and Cabinet with it .

I purchased this sander because it has a round port for the sanding dust bag. When sanding I have a vacuum powered dust collector. This sander is the only one on the market that directly fits. No adapters, no tape. Great sander. Don’t change anything.
