I have read lots of reviews about the makita trimmer 90% were positive. But after purchasing it and using it for the first I notice several issues. First the strokes per minute on the box says 2700 but when I read the manual it stated the strokes per minute we’re actually 1375. Makita support stated the manual number was the correct number. Second the safety features having to push the handle the trigger and the button is annoying if you plan to use for any extended time. Makita now has newer model xhu10. Which I will try when it’s available

Got this for my wife and she really likes it. So much better than the corded one we had before. No problems with the battery life for her.

This is a very nice tool. Not having a cord or gas and oil to mess with is a big plus. It’s a tad heavier in use maybe, but overall I really like this thing!

If this is a get what you paid for I suppose I got that. It was the cheapest trimmer makita style I could get my hands on since my tools are all makita I wanted to stay in that family. It worked, but not well. I suppose if you're using this for small branches and small bushes I think you will be fine. I used it to trim box hedges and some of the branches were too thick and it would just jam up, but you're regular small branches it worked very well. So while this isn't a great review it's not bad either. I suppose it did exactly what it said it did but I just found it underwhelming. It is light weight, battery seems to last fine. If you are looking to trim wild bushes I would get with the step up and give that a shot. If you're trimming well maintained bushes I think this will do fine.

So far it has been doing very well on the small hedges and I expect it to do as well on the larger hedges also.Happy with all my Makita tools so far.

I bought this as a gift for my son who has several Makita tools. He loves it - says its lightweight but trims his shrubs easily.

Power tool is good, except that is not as strong as the electric one.

This is exactly what I needed to trim up the flowers beds for the winter. Now I don't have to have a mile of extension cords to get my job done. Now let's see how long this baby lasts....................

Worked great for what I needed. Just light hedge trimming around the back yard.

Easy and light Cutting was excellent

No power, returned immediately. May have been a lemon but I didn’t want to take the chance again. I used my makita reciprocating saw instead.

A great addition to my Makita family! This trimmer is perfect for small to medium size shrubs. The 18v battery lasts quite a while.
