Best tool on the market for cement fiber siding. Recommended to a tile guy for cutting backer board

Cuts through cement board like paper with very little dust. You can mount your boards and cut them in place using edges for your guide to get perfect cuts very quickly. An oscillating tool (Makita, Dremel, etc.) with a square blade is a perfect compliment for cutting the corners square or cutting a triangle hole in the corners of a cutout to start a cut. Cuts are very clean if you don't push the blade too fast through the cut.

I used the shears the day after I received them and they work better than I ever expected. No major dust and fairly easy to handle though they are a little heavier than I expected. The weight is minor problem compared to the amount of dust using a saw caused and much easier than scoring and breaking long pieces need to be straight. A great purchase for my shop.

Cuts straight, clean, and easy. A must have if you have even one job to do cutting hardie. They say there's a tool for every job, and this is it for cutting cement board.

I`m doing a bath remodel, including new tile on floor and walls. I`m using Hardie Backer for the first time. The so called scoring method that they say to use just didn`t work well so I got out my saws. Had dust everywhere and ruined three blades. I didn`t like spending $ 240.00 on a tool that I won`t use that much but I`m glad I did. I was hoping that it would make simple straight cut but the truth is the shears will make about any cut you want and do it with ease without any dust.

The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is because of price. Expensive for what they are. But way better then breathing in all the dust when I used my circular saw.

This is the tool to have and use when cutting and installing Cement fiber boards such Hardi Backer or cement siding. You can use it indoors with minimal mess. It leaves 1/4 ribbon cutting debris for easy cleanup. It is accurate and easy to use

I have cut a lot of cement board using a miter saw, but have always had a problem with the dust, which you have to be careful not to breath. The Makita cement board sheer has completely eliminated this problem for me. This is one of the best tools I know own.

I have used the shears to cut the cement board panels and lap siding. A friend of mine used it once without me being there and it had jagged edges. You have to let the tool do the work. He was pushing it too hard along the piece of material. When I used it, it left beautiful clean edges. I am very happy with this purchase.
