I recently bought two sets of these. They go together easily but don't catch the locking channel and consequently easily pull apart. I tried pressing together with a block of wood to no avail. Pieces of crap.

Used this for venting my microwave hood unit, easy to cut and assemble.

The best idea I can come up with is each component is manufactured in a different plant and no machine is calibrated exactly to spec. The locking tabs were either to long or to short. Seldom did the male tab truly lock into the female slot. The corner cuts were poorly made at best and eiter far off center or to short/long. Some sections were wider/taller than others (i am guessing when the sheet was loaded into the former they weren't pressed against the guide correctly) just enough to cause alignment issues. The cap needed to be reformed to fit (and they were labeled as the same size/mfg) and the elbow assembly needed a lot of tape to make right. If you plan on using S metal and strapping to put all this together know that Home Depot dosent carry it and special ordering it can't be done (at least I couldn't find it) so - to make up for really sloppy manufacturing I had to clamp, drill, screw and tape way more than I should have. Bottom line, its more effort than its worth. In the absolute worst of pinches I would still say wait until the parts house is open for proper fitting duct.

Used a single half section to make a new 16 inch duct for a new microwave vent exhaust duct over the stove. Worked very well.

The Pittsburg seam does not hold the rectangle together. You need to use tape to hold the pieces to get which is not a mechanical connection. Needs retooling.

It worked for what I needed. Little bastārd didn't want to snap together but I gave it some love and it finally snapped together. I had to fandangle that joker in the end. Once it finally went together it became lose as a goose. Had to get the channel locks and run those fellas across it and whomp on it real good like. In then end, theres always duct tape.

It's duct work....what could go wrong?

Great piece

These are very easy to work with. When you put two together, they are the perfect height for building a duct under the toekick area of a cabinet, which is what I was doing. DO WEAR GLOVES when working with these, as you will definitely cut yourself. Easy to cut with the correct metal shears. Perfect solution for what we were looking to do.

Couldn't get a 4 inch vent pipe inside the wall because a 2x4 is 3.5 wide... Got these instead... Re drywalled over them now the dryer is venting properly.. They are excellent in tight spaces
