Very good item work perfect.

Mixed bag on this review. The high level takeaway is that this vent is designed for vertical/in wall installation. If that is your intended installation, the rating would improve to a 4. The only thing the vent would lack for in wall installation would be an embedded plastic mesh to discourage bug entry. When I searched for this item on the website, however, I was looking for a 4" soffit vent. This device unfortunately does not work well as a soffit vent. I was expecting the wedges in the collar to be more pronounced to ensure a snug soffit fit, but even having drilled the cutout with a 4" hole saw, the collar will not stay horizontally mounted in a soffit. To retain this cover in a soffit will require caulk or construction adhesive. The facing has an "UP" imprint in it that again implies the unit is designed for a wall mount. Once you have the collar glued to the soffit, the next challenge was to attach the collar to the vent line. The diameter of the collar was a little too small, and caused a large crease in the attaching elbow when trying to tighten up the band clamps. The summary here is great item for an in wall vent, but does not work well for soffit installations

Not great quality but OK for the price. I'm using it to vent bath fan through a soffitt. I had to modify it by adding a bug screen and 2 screws to keep metal duct attached to plastic vent

Should be manufactured from aluminum instead of galvanized as they would last longer!

Great vent, smaller and more concealed, great price. Used this as an HVAC extension for a kitchen...CFM is adequate.

Metal portion is low mil and flimsy. Had to augment connection with duct tape to make it sturdy.

Deceiving item! I recently bought and immediately returned this item upon receiving it. The bath exhaust does not come with the white cover grill! Even the helpful lady at customer service was confused and made sure it wasn’t a mistake that the grill was left behind in the department.
