Installed this to replace our piece of junk, less than three year old Frigidaire microwave. In the spring we had a repairman fix a faulty part on our Frigidaire and then a few days ago the microwave just completely died. So after researching we decided to purchase a Maytag primarily because of the good reputation, reviews and the push button door. The Frigidaire's door mechanism was the original thing to break and the repairman said it's very common with microwaves with that type of handle. As far as installation goes, we decided to install it on our own (two ladies with some diy experience). We knew that the Maytag was about an inch taller in height, but figured it didn't really matter. When we realized that the bracket couldn't go any lower because of the tile we were ready to back it up and return it :( but with some fatherly advice and some brainstorming we figured out we could install a "shim" against our tile so that the bracket can be lower than the original one. We also needed to drill new holes in the upper cabinet. We were super happy when it all worked out!! Yippee! FYI-the template they give for the upper cabinet drill holes is challenging. We couldn't lay ours flat so it was difficult to get it accurate. We just measured out our holes from the measurements provided. Probably measured like five times to be exactly sure :) The only small negative is that all our other appliances are Frigidaire and so the lighting display color are different. So now we have a green time display on our stove and an orange time display on our Maytag microwave. But for me, it beats getting another Frigidaire.

It is the first time I have ever purchased the range style and I am blown away by how easy to use it is and how much pace it saves me. It also matches all my other Maytag appliances. It fits perfectly in my newly finished dream kitchen!

We're slowly updating our kitchen appliances, replacing black with stainless steel. This Maytag microwave is an outstanding one! First, the stainless steel exterior is a breeze to keep clean. Second, the stainless interior is a HUGE improvement in ease of cleaning! Third, the built-in over- the-range light has two settings, one really bright, and the second dimmer. Fourth, the warning "beep" for the microwave timer (and the reminder if you don't remove your dish) is way less shrill than our former microwave. We've had no issues at all thus far and are hopeful the Maytag name today is what it was known for in the past: long, reliable performance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're replacing older appliances with stainless steel and chose this product to replace the old one. It is GORGEOUS! Even the inside is stainless steel - SO MUCH EASIER to clean! The vent fan (2 settings) is a lot quieter than the old one, and the end cycle tones are not nearly as annoying. I also love the 2 settings on the over-the-range lights: dim and bright. The turntable moves quietly and smoothly; our old one was starting to grind a little. All in all, we are thrilled with this new microwave, and the stainless steel finish is really upgrading our kitchen! Next on our upgrade list is a range and refrigerator, and we'll be looking at the Magtag brand. The 10-year warranty is hard to beat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a little over a month ago. We specifically chose this make and model because it boosts that the fan is quiet. It isn’t as quiet as we were hoping, but not as loud as our old one, which was Not a Maytag. It works great, looks great and we hope it lasts longer than 3 years which was how quickly the last one went out on us. The thing I don’t like and didn’t think about until it was installed is the LED display color of orange. That’s picky thing I know, but it looks cheap. Would prefer it to be blue or fluorescent yellow, to match our other appliances.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It definitely has more ventilation than our prior unit. It also moves air inside the oven as it is cooking. Stovetop cooking ventilation also performs well. Priorly, we have owned three pull door handle ovens from other manufactures, each one quickly developed door switch failures. This oven has a push button configuration, potentially a more durable design. The stainless steel cavity is also easy to clean. Touchpad features are user friendly and helpful for everyone in the family.

I really line over-the-range microwave range hoods. They work great, save counter space, come with a great light for the cooktop, and include a range hood that can be vented to the outside or left as a recirculating type. I would not have a house without one again. This Maytag brings it to a new level. The stainless steel exterior matches perfectly my dishwasher, kitchen sink and the trim parts of my range. My next buy will be a refrigerator with the same finish. Unlike some of the earlier stainless appliance finishes, this does not show the fingerprints, so it always looks clean and new. It has a sleek look without a big protruding handle. The interior is also stainless steel, making for easy cleaning. I found installation to be pretty easy, and everything was included. The instructions were clear and well illustrated, including templates for the wall and the upper cabinet. It is a fairly light unit, but I would definitely make sure that you have a helper for lifting it into place and securing it. I was finished in about a half-hour or so. It runs quiet, and at 1000 watts will cook anything quickly, or use a lower setting depending yon your needs. Even with the fan on, I found that it isn’t very loud. I am disappointed that some of the one-touch features are lacking on this model. The only one is for 30 seconds, but no ability to touch 2 (only) for 2 minutes, for example, but that is a minor inconvenience. This is a great microwave for the price, and although there is a sticker on the front that states 10 year warranty, that is basically only for the magnetron bulb, or the part that does the heating, and I have never had one of those go bad. The rest of the unit has a 1 year warranty.

We got this microwave to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. Nothing wrong with the Kenmore, it was just time to get a new unit. During installation I discovered something. Old microwaves are about twice as heavy as newer ones! The Kenmore weighed at least 60 pounds. The new Maytag weighs around 25! Ease of installation is a nice plus. I had to move the rear mounting bracket down exactly 1 inch vs my old unit. Once the bracket was installed and 1 new hole drilled in the top cabinet, it took about 5 minutes to get the new one installed. The right hand screw had to be moved 4 inches to the left. Installation instructions are easy to follow and the templates are easy to put in and mark! This is a big unit. The inside is beautiful stainless and big enough to cook about anything short of a 25 pound turkey! Cooking instructions are on the inside of the unit just below the face of the cooking surface. I really like the lock being on the side vs on the handle! Our old Kenmore didn't even have a lock. Just a friction hold on the door. There is no handle to get in the way either. Nice smooth surface. You can hook this to an exterior exhaust system or you can leave the unit alone and it will exhaust above the unit just above the face toward the ceiling. Filter system is nice and the exhaust system will pull smoke and odors away from the stove top quickly! Get this one. Even if your microwave still functions, it may be worth it to you to replace it with this new Maytag! It's beautiful and functional inside and out!

Microwaves have become the norm in our houses. They are all good quality out there, and some have cut some corners, others not so much. From technical perspective this seems to be an entire new generation with muti-directional focused area on microwave emitter and you can see this on more expensive models - the non-metallic square cover of the magnetron is off-center. This is an entirely new generation and concept, and this is going to be the norm for all microwaves of the future. The stainless steel inside part is literally something that I have been searching for years. It seems to be prohibitively expensive for manufacturers to put other there models from stainless steel instead of just powder coating them dark. This shows how determined Maytag are to put a product on the market made from top quality materials while sparing no expense doing that. Another thing I liked was the safety switch on the door, the lockout feature too and with boys in the house, it is more of a necessity rather than a luxury. The overall design is just great, the non-finger stain surface is superb and extremely easy to clean with just a wet towel. The stainless steel part of the inner area cleans up beautifully also just with that. The microwave has a great default power, but you can choose different power levels that have 30-40% wider range, meaning defrost may take more time but it won't cook your meat and the highest setting is much power powerful than any other microwave I owned. The reversible fan can be connected to a vent with just a couple of screws and the microwave set includes a flap to prevent any insects from coming as well as air. It is an inch narrower compared to my old one, but it feels more sophisticated, better made, more powerful and having much higher quality. The installation is very standard, although the back plate is not the usual square or U-shape, but just a thin metal strip with two hooks for the slots in both lower ends. To me that could be little deficient, although the position of the studs in my kitchen made it perfectly so that no additional securing was needed. I'd much prefer to see future models having not only the lower strip but also vertical pieces on both sides. Of course, there is also securing from the top, and overall weight of the microwave is about 20% heavier than other models, they are all still very much what is need to fully support this load plus the biggest turkey you can find in the stores. I like the button design, and to me this is the most practical and intuitive design for a microwave. At that price with those materials and power, I'd say it is practically a steal and is going to be very successful model on the market. Overall Maytag are killing it recently.

This is a great replacement for my old over-the-stove microwave. It's powerful enough at 1000 watts, and fits perfectly in the previous appliances location. It's rather heavy, so have a helper standing by! Performance-wise, it's quieter than the old boat anchor I've had, and I like the "popcorn" button, which is probably what I use the most. It vents well enough. For the price, it can't be matched.

We replaced the fuse that was blown in it but it did no good... blew right away again and then we knew it was the magnetron! Cheaper to go buy a new one than to replace it. I was looking for a new microwave at the local box hardware store and was surprised to see a Maytag with a 10yr warranty on the magnetron! If my prior one had been a Maytag I would not be paying to buy a replacement for a 9 yo microwave! I still have the sticker on my new one to remind me of its 10 yr warranty! Very happy with it, a very solid unit.....much better unit than the Frigidaire.

We just had this microwave installed in white. We love it. The window is dark black and is a nice contrast with the white. No door handle gives it a modern look. Quiet, spacious & easy to work. The light underneath has two settings for brightness. Happy with this. We bought a GE last year and it surged our circuit breaker and then just died after 16 months! Hope to get more years out of this one.

Our old unit bit the dust ,so we were happy with the performance of our Maytag dishwasher. This is why we decided on this Maytag microwave. We love that the unit is easy to clean both on the inside as well as the outside. It has a fingerprint resistant stainless steel front as well as stainless cavity which makes it a breeze to clean out. We also love the features of the keypad for example if you go to pop popcorn it asked you what size bag. Or if cooking baked potatoes how many are you cooking.....a lot of neat feature like that. Also it has the orange digital display as with most newer Maytag products. Plenty of light for the stove top surface with the two stage LED light and a adjustable fan speed.

This 1000 watt Maytag/Whirlpool over-the-range microwave oven/hood (model # MMV-1175-J20) has a stainless steel front, and a stainless steel interior as well, with a 10 year limited warranty. Outer dimensions are 17”h x 30”w x 16”d (not allowing for clearances). Inner dimensions are 9.5”h x 21”w x 14”d. Inner turntable platter is glass, and 12” across. It also alternates rotation. Controls are easy to learn, and very intuitive. There’s also a Demo mode to practice using controls without activating the magnetron. Has both underside and interior lighting, and a 2-speed vent fan. It’s a really well made product, very spacious inside, easy to clean, works great and looks great above my range. It should last for many years, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Excellent oven..........several ways to install it............................................... This is an unbiased review that is unaffected by the fact that I received this product for free. As proof of impartiality, just click on my nickname and see the average of the ratings I have given over 300 reviews to date. My renovation is delayed so this is a review before installation. I used this oven as a countertop in the meantime. There are three ways to install the blower output: front, top or rear. You take off a cover, unbolt the blower and rotate it to the desired position. Takes just a few minutes. It comes in the front (re-circulation) position from the factory. Once I figured out the method of operation, the oven worked fine. It was not intuitive since it requires you to press the set time button first before keying in the time. That is diffrerent from every other microwave oven I have ever owned. The noise level is typical when on the countertop, but will probably be less once installed in a pocket. There are buttons for an interior light and a fan. The display could be larger for such a big oven. As it is, it's just adequate. The cabinet is definitely not made of stainless steel, but rather is regular steel with a "stainless finish" to resemble stainless steel. The oven comes with a standard glass rotating tray with plastic rollers underneath. All are removable for cleaning. The door feels solid and closes cleanly with little extra force needed. This oven is made in China.

Maytag 1.9 Cubic Foot Finger resistant stainless steel microwave can be a great addition to your home. Inside the 1.9 cubic ft. stainless cavity cleans up and resists spattering. The 10 year Magnetron and cavity limited parts warranty should give you years of worry free cooking. Push button opening and lock out feature keeps accidental use. No worries that it will come on while cleaning. The 2 speed fan whisks away smoke. The 2 stage light is nice but could be brighter. A nice unit. But there are sharp edges and fit on door is sloppy. Take away: 1 year warranty is not sufficient to enable you the consumer to have sufficient time to make sure all is working as it should. The display to me is dim. A blue or green would be easier to see.
