I have tried to use this USELESS device to measure the temp of coolant hoses, cylinder heads, exhaust pipes excreta only to be DISAPPOINTED. It's the ONLY tool that I have purchased that has COMPLETELY FAILED to get the job done. I WOULDN'T GIVE THIS THING AWAY

Stopped working after about a month of use have a code that just pops up on the screen as Erc when I pull the trigger and won’t do anything else

I haven't been able to use this product properly because it says "Er C" whenever we pull the trigger.

the only thing that is important is to make sure the temperature of the gun is the same as the room you are in roughly. If it was in your car and 100 degrees, it will take 15 minutes as a minimum to balance the temp. Once you do that it works great but if you try to use it before then it is way off. Just as a note, all the thermal guns for all manufactures have this issue. Some less than others

Just pulled this out of the box and tried to read an interior wall. It's winter and I'm in upstate NY with the thermostat set to 70. Temp-gun is reading 80+ out of the box. Can a calibration be performed?

milwaukee battery drains daily even while not in use. i have two Ryobi infrared thermometers one is hand held the other for smartphone both work just as well; actually better because who carries a pocket full of 9v batteries around everyday.

Works perfect, have nice holding temperature feature ether lower or higher Dropped the thing like 100 times and still works like nothing happen to it

Absolute JUNK. I purchased two Milwaukee 10:1 IR Temp Guns through Home Depot online and when I began to use them 12 hours after receiving them I noticed one of them is 30 higher in temperature.

This is the Milwaukee IR 10:1 Thermometer. It measures surface temperatures of most all things, and is especially useful during maintenance and repairs of various building systems such as electrical panels, heating and air conditioning systems, water heating systems, plumbing systems and such. It can also be very helpful with vehicle maintenance such as checking temperatures of cooling systems and hoses. I tried it out on a variety of objects and used it to test the temperature of heating vents, cooling vents, radiator hoses, interior walls and hot water faucets. It has many more uses. It is easy to use, very intuitive, well-designed, and has enough features to cover most basic jobs. This particular unit is a 10:1 meaning the ratio of the distance to the spot you are measuring is 10 to 1. So at 3 feet away the spot you are measuring is 3.6 inches. At 5 feet away, the spot is 6 inches in diameter. The 10:1 unit is better suited to close-up measurements in inches as the ratios work better for inch measurements rather than feet. I would have preferred the 12:1 unit as the ratios work better with that unit in feet. While I found this thermometer to be very handy and useful, if you are using it in a professional or commercial environment, you may wish to upgrade to the 30:1 unit which gives you much more control of the area you are checking from a further distance. This is most helpful when you are checking temperatures of vents or pipes in high, hard-to-reach areas, and high ceilings. Overall, a good performer for close-up measuring and smaller jobs. Otherwise, step up to the 30:1 thermometer.

This laser temp-gun works up to 750F,which is more then plenty for most projects. Milwaukee also has other temp-guns with higher temp ranges, but they have a higher price tag too. The device has many functions, including alarms, which can be helpful for certain projects. It seems a little on the heavier side, but most people won't use it for hours, so that's not a big deal. It is drop-proof up to 9 ft, which is always good to know that it is tough an will survive some rough handling on the work sire. Overall a good product and a good value.

This is a simple-to-use IR temperature gun that allows you to take a quick temperature measurement of a particular area without taking a reading of everything else in the area. It has a 10:1 spot ratio, which means that the temperature sensor spot is 1-foot from 10-feet away. If you are nearer or further distance from the sensor spot, the measuring spot is 1/10 the distance to the object, which is important, because it tells you where the temperature measurement is coming from. This temp-gun has 4 user-selectable modes (max, min, avg. and dif.) and operates in Celsius or Fahrenheit degrees from a temperature range of -22F to 752F. This tool is useful for checking the surface for hot or cold spots to identify and locate a problem. The tool is light-weight and comfortable in the hand. The LCD display is large and contrast is excellent with clear and crisp, easy-to-read, digits and symbols from head-on, however the viewing angle could be better with the display fading from view from an angle, especially the horizontal viewing angle. The tool operates on a single 9V battery (included) that installs neatly in the handle. A lanyard or belt clip, typically found on Milwaukee tools, is oddly not a feature of this tool, so you will need to store it in a tool belt during transport around the job site. I definitely can recommend this Milwaukee IR Temp-Gun to users who want a compact, easy to use, and reasonably accurate IR thermometer.

Fails calibration with lab's black body standard. Doesn't look serviceable as manual doesn't have instructions for adjustment. For posterity deviation at room temp is 3 degrees F (non linear). I understand that this is not a precision instrument- but it should conform to factory stated accuracy.

I never thought I would have to rate a Milwaukee tool so poorly and to be honest these should be removed from all store shelves. Right out of the box I tested it against other thermometers/temp guns which were all within 2-3 degrees of each other, the Milwaukee on the other hand was 12-14 degrees off, there’s also an issue with the battery draining when not in use.

I purchased 10 of these for my company. ALL 10 stopped working within 2 months. I know I could send them in to get fixed but 10 dying in under 2 months? Best case, they fix all 10 to work for another 2 months? Terrible. I am going a different route. Shame on you Milwaukee.

Never checked mine for accuracy. After about a week and only a few uses the screen failed. This product is junk.

IR thermometers are a dime a dozen. Milwaukee’s flavor of thermometer is sturdy in the hand, reads temps quickly and appears to be highly accurate. This is a must have for home maintenance, contracting work and even gardening

Waste of money. Unit eats 9V batteries. There is even a customer on YouTube that hardwires a disconnect for this tool. Unacceptable product from Milwaukee. Save your money. Not sure if the rechargeable battery version is any better, not willing to give them my money to find out unless they take this back.

I bought two these for check concrete temps. Out of the both read inaccurate temps and both were 7 degrees different then each other. This not acceptable seeing we certain specs to place the concrete. Also from what I can tell there’s no way to calibrate it either.

Bought this for hdpe fusion and it worked fine. Put it up and came back to it about 6 months later and it's dead, I've changed the battery and it's still completely unresponsive.

As a general contractor and DIY mechanic I have been impressed with every Milwaukee tool I've purchased - I always purchase the pro versions and they are great so when I needed a good Infrared Temp gun I reached past the green gun and paid double for the 2267-20 - right out of the box it was at least 10 degrees off starting with checking 5 different peoples heads at 89-91 degrees on a 80-degree day - then a transmission that my OBDII scanner said was 113 degrees and the gun read 104, then reading a heat lamp with my wifes cheap temp gun and the 2267-20 there was a 12degree difference - I then put a thermometer on the heat lamp and it measured 2 degrees different than my wifes cheap one but 8 degrees away from the 2267-20 - Come on Milwaukee get it together! This one is going back to the orange box store and I'm getting a yellow one

The unavailability to calibrate this item is disappointing and I would very much appreciate someone from Milwaukee reaching out and instructing/providing me with a manual or procedure to help calibrate this Temp Gun.

Temp Gun is way out of calibration right out of the box. The unit is reading 8-11 degrees higher than what it should. I verified this with a calibrated fluke IR gun, there is no way to calibrate this unit.

Great build quality, but the temperature is way off. I use tools in my job, so an inaccurate temp-gun is un-acceptable. Temperature reading is off by approximately 10 degrees F. Please provide calibration documentation.

This infrared thermometer does not work. This isbthe worst quality milwuakee tool I have purchased. It is WAY off on its readings. I read somewhere that it should be allowed to reach ambient air temp by setting out for 5 to 30 minutes. Unfortunately the only time I need this is when things are beginning to fall below freezing. The device does not work in these Temps. It will flash ER or something like that (as I recall). And will not display a temp. Summary: useless tool.
