I really thought they would be tougher
For something made by a maker of commercial tools I thought these gloves would be tougher than they were. I was unloading a truck full of river rocks like the ones in the picture, they were not sharp at all. The fingers wore away! Now the only way I can use the gloves is to put duct tape there that looks terrible. I used my Burton snowboard gloves for the rest of the job and they were not damaged at all! Please make the gloves out of tougher stuff! I will say they are warm.

    Not durable enough for price
These gloves are just ok. I have only had for a month and they are starting to fall apart. For the price, they should last much longer. They are fairly warm, but not the best dexterity if getting to grab nails/screws from a pouch. I personally wouldn’t buy again.

      Wrong size
These gloves were exactly what i needed working outside all day as a union carpenter, I always get small Milwaukee gloves and they fit perfect, i tried these on and they seemed very large, they put S stickers all over the M labels. Cant trust reordering.

These Milwaukee X-Large Winter Performance Work Gloves, Adult Unisex, in Black are a good purchase. Were delivered and got put to the test right away, and they did the job. Got an XL when I usually wear a L but they fit good, so probably suggest trying a size larger. Definitely kept my hands and fingers warm, and I hate being cold so I was pleased. Well made, solid item. Get yourself some!

These gloves are tough and comfortable. They keep your hands plenty warm, but they are not super bulky like many comparable winter gloves. They are durable, and I have worn them when working in my shop, hauling wood, and just playing outdoors in the snow. Because they are not super thick, they will dry easily if they get wet, which is another nice quality. I would definitely recommend these gloves.

Excellent choice for winter work gloves. Very well made, as one would expect from Milwaukee. Well insulated and warm. The smart touch knuckle on the index fingers is a nice feature to have so you don't have to take your gloves off to answer or make calls. The rubber grippers between the thumb and index finger are a must as the palm is not textured at all. There are gussets at each knuckle that make them more flexible for grabbing and holding. All around great glove for winter whether you are working in them or not.

This is an fantastic winter glove that will keep your hands warm in the most extreme cold conditions, at least for the North East USA. The are really well made gloves to last out on the professional contractor in the job site or the DIY'er such as myself. The stitching on these gloves are tight and will wear well. The tips of the gloves can be used for touch screen devices which is a plus for all of us with smart devices. One minor thing I did realize with this is the sizing runs small. I usually wear an X-Large and these were really tight on me. When ordering I would suggest the next size up for comfort.

I would recommend these winter weight gloves for their intended purpose, keeping your hands warm in cold weather. They are great for when I am using a tool like a shovel, rake or broom. They are okay when I am using pruning clippers. They are not the right choice for tasks that require finger dexterity. While they are a snug fit, the fingers are too thick to give the necessary feel for small tasks. They are not touch screen compatible, nor are they advertised to be. I have not felt the cold blow through them. I have only tested them down to 35 degrees. They have a loop on the wrist side of the cuff. It is a convenient place to hook them when I am not using them. They'd be useful if I was using gator clips like what I have used when skiing. I have used them for a few outdoor yard tasks and so far they are dirty, but don't have any wear marks on them. They look like they are going to wear well and last quite awhile.

The Milwaukee winter performance gloves would be great if they were sized properly. The stitching is tight and there are no loose threads around the fingers. A few missed or loose stitches around the reinforced pointer finger, but nothing I’d worry about. Made of durable, waterproof and wind proof materials, along with 60g insulation and interior soft liner, these gloves are warm enough to replace my ski gloves. Definitely nice for shoveling, but Milwaukee got the sizing wrong. In my opinion, the large (9”) is a medium. My winter gloves usually range from large to x-large depending on the brand. I figured I might be able to get by with a size large in these gloves, but I was wrong. My hands fit inside the gloves, but they're so tight, I can’t grab anything without discomfort. My middle finger is 3.5” long and the distance from the tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm is 8”. Both gloves have a small hanging hook and the thumb material is a nice, soft synthetic leather material, which is helpful for wiping a drippy nose. Unfortunately, these gloves cannot go in the washing machine or the dryer. They must be hand washed and line dried. Bummer! The glove tips do not work with a smartphone, but there is a smart swipe strip on the pointer finger knuckle. Sadly, you can’t do much with a swipe other than answer a call. And the smart swipe isn’t positioned properly over my knuckle, which makes it awkward. If these gloves were sized properly, they’d be nice, warm, dry winter gloves. As they are, they won’t work for me.

There is no doubt that these are warm, windproof and waterproof winter gloves. They also have a nice feature called a Smart Swipe that allows you to activate and use your smart phone - see pictures. You do need to note that these gloves seem to run small - I generally wear a Large and these are a little tight. Also, I noticed that you do not have much dexterity with these gloves. It would be hard to work with nails, screws, etc. while wearing these gloves. I plan to use mine when cutting wood, using a chain saw, etc.

My Winter Performance Gloves from Milwaukee are warm and waterproof. However, they are cut a bit small due to the unisex sizing. I found a sizing chart and included it in my pictures. I wear a large glove but should have gotten a unisex size XL. The reinforced area between the thumb and index finger is a good feature and will help reduce wear when shoveling snow and running the snow blower. I tried to use the SMARTSWIPE Knuckle with my iPhone and iPad and had no luck at all. Maybe my SMARTSWIPE Knuckle is not located in the correct spot because the gloves are a little small. The Terry Cloth Sweat Wipe is handy for a dripping nose when working outside. The Nylon pull loop is also a nice feature to help pull the gloves on your hands. In summary, the gloves are warm, waterproof and wind proof. The sweat wipe and pull loops are nice features. If you are ordering online get a sizing chart (I’ve included one in my pictures). Good luck using the SMARTSWIPE knuckle thingy. The gloves perform well outdoors. I would recommend the gloves as an outdoor winter work glove.

Exceptional quality! I really had to push myself to spend this much on a set of winter gloves but they seem worth it so far. I really like the construction. Other winter gloves I have seem to bunch up after a few wearings and they're harder and harder to get comfortable in.; I think these are going to be much better. The only thing I would say is that they seem to run a little large. I usually wear an extra large but I wish I would have ordered a size smaller. They're going to be great for running my snow blower this season.

Bearing the distinctive Red and Black Milwaukee colors (with the lightning bolt logo, should there be any doubt as to the manufacturer) I had high expectations for these gloves for cold weather chores for which the typical “mechanics” gloves (while offering dexterity) have limited ability to block the cold. At first glance, the workmanship seemed to be of high quality (reinforcements where needed, loops for hanging them to dry, a felt-like portion of the thumb pocket which could be used to wipe the snow off your glasses and a “smart swipe” section on the index finger of each glove, billed as a “touch screen compatible knuckle”), however, when using them it is apparent that the sizing and proportioning of the glove parts leaves a bit to be desired. Using a size “Large” (which is my normal glove size) it was difficult to insert my fingers fully into the gloves and, once inserted, most dexterity was lost due to the close placement of the fingers, the excessive finger length (when the hand “bottoms out” in the glove there is still at least a half inch or more of empty finger) and the singular “joint” at the middle knuckle (only) of each finger. In addition, it was not possible to insert one’s hand into these gloves after putting on 5 mil. Latex gloves as a liner (which I normally due in the winter to block the wind and maintain heat in the fingers). I would have to say that I would only recommend these for tasks not requiring finger dexterity (such as operating trigger switch tools and the like). While opting for a larger size may allow for an easier fit, it will, no doubt, exacerbate the issue of finger to hand proportions. While the Smart Swipe feature looked promising, due to the inflexibility of the glove fingers, it would be of use for limited applications, not requiring precision contact.

Great Winter Work Glove. Milwaukee Performance Winter Glove. I've been using the Milwaukee Demolition Gloves for awhile now and they have always done the job for me, with the knuckle protection and grip improvement, through the cold of the winter months in the cold of the desert and the nearby snow covered mountains. These Winter Performance Gloves seemed like an easy transition for me. Just like everyone's winter lined gloves, it took a couple of days for the inner liner to stretch, to the outer protective glove size, for the right fit. These glove do an excellent job of providing warmth and protection for your hands for a full day outside. The missing grip increase of the demolition gloves were the only thing I missed. You do get better dexterity however, with these gloves, and Milwaukee has included a knuckle point " Smart Swipe", at your index finger, to operate your smart phone or tablet without needing to go to a protected corner and remove your gloves. That improvement is remarkable, over that needed with other winter protection gloves, and is a major improvement. I have found that these Performance Winter Gloves work much better than I expected for winter, because of the warmth and still maintaining the ability to communicate, as needed, with the gloves still on and you still on the job in the cold, no matter the grime or dirt build up during the course of the day. For a work or play day in the snow or just cold these Performance Gloves keep you at the task at hand, with your hands warm for the whole day.

When I saw Winter gloves from Milwaukee, my expectation level rose. Then I noticed the feature called “SMARTSWIPE”, which allows you to use touch screens with your gloves on, I was hooked and had to try them. Milwaukee’s product information says that these gloves are “designed to provide Ultimate Durability and All Day Comfort”, so I was anxiously waiting for the package to arrive. I have large hands and wear an XL size in gloves, so that’s what I ordered. When my gloves arrived, I was disappointed because they were so tight that I could barely get them on! (After a few days, they did stretch and become more comfortable.) Once I was able to get my hand into the gloves, I got my tablet out to try the “SMARTSWIPE” feature. I have a pair of mechanic’s gloves with what looks like a very thin leather stitched on to the thumb and 1st 2 fingertips. I looked for something like that on these gloves and didn’t see anything, so I figured that Milwaukee had a better solution and then started to poke the screen with my fingers but nothing happened. Then I read the description of “SMARTSWIPE” closer and found that you’re supposed to use the knuckle of your index finger – not the fingertip. When I examined the gloves closely, I noticed the same kind of material that I mentioned previously, outlined with red stitching, on the knuckle of each index finger. If you want to experience frustration at a high level, try dialing a number on your cell phone with your knuckle. Then imagine trying to do that with thick gloves on! OK – so you need to use a stylus for something like this. Unfortunately, the fingers are so bulky that I have trouble picking up an ink pen, let alone a thin stylus. I would not have a problem operating my tractor but anything requiring “fine motor skills” could be problematic. These are “Winter Performance gloves”, so how well they keep your fingers warm is a very important factor to me! Today, it’s 12 degrees outside, so I have the perfect environment to test these gloves! I needed to handle a fiberglass ladder and move around some metal objects. We don’t have enough snow on the ground for me to do any snow blowing but the gloves did keep my hands warm while I was outside and that’s what’s most important to me. However, if being able to use a touch-screen while wearing your winter gloves is important, then I’d suggest considering another glove. I recommend them because they do a good job keeping my hands warm. I subtracted one star because the SMARTSWIPE feature is not implemented well - in my opinion.

Rugged glove with high quality construction that is slightly incorrectly sized. The Milwaukee winter performance glove is not a driving or going out to dinner glove its a working glove and it is well constructed to do that job. The fingers have nylon reinforcement on the back side with knuckle relief cuts allowing for easier bending of the fingers. The thumb-forefinger and web between is also reinforced with an additional layer of highly aggressive material and the finger tips are also double up. The cuffs are longer than normal with a single elastic band right at the wrist, they do not have the elastic rib-net cuffs that seal out the cold air. Each glove has a nylon pull lanyard loop on the cuff for help getting your fingers in and can be used to hang them for drying. The back side of the thumb is made of softer terrycloth for wiping of the face allowing the user to “not” rip away flesh in doing so. The glove has a waterproof and windproof layer with a 60g layer of insulation for warmth. I tried using the glove with multiple tools and was able to hold onto and correctly use them with no issues. Forget the smart swipe, it does not work. Nothing I tried on this glove would allow me to navigate a touch screen. Things I did not like, the sizing is all wrong. I do not have large hands, so I have always taken a “large” in gloves. This XL fits me too tightly causing restricted blood flow and letting my fingers get cold. The XL is more like a large size not a XL like I was expecting. Had I gotten a large I would not have been able to get my hands into the gloves. I checked the sizes of my gloves at the house and then went out to several stores and tried on several other brands of winter gloves all with the same result, I really do take a large. I understand the added insulation, but the gloves are sized larger than what the actual fit. The insulation did pack down some and after several days of use and finally felt comfortable enough to leave them on the whole time. The insulation is warm enough for when you are working so your hands do not sweat but if your inactive (deer stand) your fingers will get cold. Like I said, these are working gloves. This is a great working glove, well made, strong, cannot use with a touch screen and you need to go up a size for it to fit correctly with 2XL being the largest size made but as of this date that size is not available. If you have big mitts’ and normally take a 2XL you will not be comfortable in this glove. Recommended, remember to size up.

I really like the look of these gloves, and think they'd be perfect for cold weather outdoor work. But there's just one problem: they don't really fit like large gloves. In my opinion, they are closer to medium in size. I found that for my hands, the fingers holes were way too short, making them feel odd and hard to bend, as I was bending my base knuckles way below where the finger holes start. The finger holes are also fairly restrictive, which is good for warmth, but not great if you actually have big hands/fingers. So, I'd say these would be a woman's large or a man's medium. I think Milwaukee has to redesign them with longer finger holes if they want to sell them as large.

This is a great pair of winter gloves that keep your hands warm and have a large nylon tab so they are easy to pull on your hands. The swipe feature is handy but I don't use this feature because all use the gloves for is to plow and shovel snow. The bright red is nice so you can find the gloves and can be seen by others. I do have a wide hand so this XL size is a little to small so I would advise to get the next size up if you are a XL then buy a 2XL and so on. The material is made from synthetic leather and are water and wind proof.

These are some very warm gloves and it’s easy to see some thought went into the design. I found the joints on the back of the knuckles an interesting feature. That helps keep them flexible yet warm even though they are quite thick. (The outer layer is jointed at the knuckles.) I found the fit to be very snug but if you plan to do any work while wearing them you’ll want that. I can sometimes wear a medium glove and the large fit me very snug. I have to tug a bit to get them on. But once on they are comfortable. When I first put them on for a moment I thought they might not fit but I realized they were OK for me after a few moments. But if you have bigger hands you should probably go with the XL. Today it is pretty cold and windy outside with chill factors in the teens. And it is toasty with these on. No problem handling cold metals. They seem very well built so I expect they will stand up to a lot of rigor. I tend to wear holes in gloves pretty fast. But these are pretty durable so I have high hopes for them. You do give up some dexterity due to the thickness but that is always a tradeoff to staying warm.

I wish these came in double extra large. My hands aren't that ginormous, but I could hardly jam these gloves on. They have a ton of insulation and a long cuff so they'd be great out working in the snow. They are heavily reinforced in the wear areas so you won't have to treat them nicely. The entire side of the thumb is a terrycloth snot/sweat wiper that's darn handy. I didn't get the Smart Swipe feature until I figured out that the front of the glove's fingers were probably going to get dirty and wet, so having the ability to answer your phone by using your "index knuckle" is pretty cool. Nice gloves, but they do run small.

Milwaukee Large Winter Performance Work Gloves to me look like the ones I use for Winter sports. It is deceiving because they are built for tough work. You can see they have warmth in mind with polyester lined insulation, flexible construction and a tough fabric outer shell. These gloves on my hand are snug in the palm with plenty of room in the fingertips. They have Milwaukee's Smartswipe fingers designed to allow using touch screens when wearing them. I still need more practice with this feature. The high dexterity fingers are a welcome feature working in cold weather. They have a flexibility joint in the fingers on three of the digits. You can see it as stitching across the fingers in several of the photo's. The joint extends when you close your hand. I liked my old snow gloves that came with a terry cloth thumb wipe to clear your face of water or sweat. These Milwaukee gloves have the same feature and the feature is much larger. . Each glove has a loop cord past the wrist cuff to pull off the glove. They also include reinforcement in the thumb area and on the fingertips where gloves wear. We don't have the Winter weather yet in the East Coast to test them fully, but from what I see these will do an excellent job of keeping my hands warm and dry. The tough outer material will hold up to most on-site jobs. For even more protection, I saw Home Depot has Milwaukee's Winter Demolition gloves with even more protection for Winter construction work. Both gloves are similar with these as the performance version, have less overall padding. Either of these gloves are a good choice this Winter.

One great pair of winter gloves. These gloves are made heavy and warm. Not only do they keep your hands warm, but provide plenty of protection, whether using a chain saw, moving lumber around, stacking firewood, or handling trees that have been cut down in the yard. They can handle the abuse, while keeping both hands toasty. I am 5’7” and have medium size hands and the Large size fits me perfectly. Try on a pair and you will definitely take them home!

Excellent quality gloves, but if these are XL, I'm not fitting them. They are very tight, tighter than other Milwaukee gloves I've purchased. While I'm sure they will keep my hands warm in the cold weather, I'm not sure that I could wear them that long due to the fit. As with any cold-weather work gloves, you give up some dexterity for the insulation, and that's true here. It's funny, there's at least an inch extra length at the end of each finger, but they are extremely hard to put on, but the tightness, not just on the hand, but on each finger as well.

When removing the gloves lining comes out with your hand, if your holding metal like a hammer fingers will get cold. Also not sure how waterproof they are, because if your hands sweat (which we all know once your wet in the cold you’re done) which they will, hard to tell, there bulky but don’t know how you would get warm gloves that allow for better dexterity. So make a glove that gives you the dexterity, the lining stays in the glove, actually keeps your finger tips warm when using any too, keeps your hands dry and doesn’t cost a ton and you and you have the perfect outdoor glove.
