I absolutely love this tape. It is by far the best tape I've used for hanging plastic sheeting or plastic drop cloths. It sticks amazingly well--permanently--to plastic sheeting. It sticks very well to nearly all other surfaces, but can be removed from most surfaces without damage or any residue. I've used it for a few painting projects recently, and just a few pieces does the job, whereas I used to have to use several feet of other tape to hold plastic sheeting in place. Once it sticks to the plastic sheeting, you pretty much can't remove it. One word of caution--be careful when painting to not paint over this tape in a visible area and be careful when using it for masking. The tape is relatively thick and will leave a visible line, and the scalloped edges of the tape can leave a very visible line in the paint. I accidentally painted over the tape and learned this the hard way when I removed the tape. I bought a few more rolls to keep on hand, and will use this tape any time I need to hang or tape down plastic sheeting. I've used it on nearly every type of finished and unfinished wood, painted and unpainted drywall, metal, and concrete, and it has worked great. I highly recommend it for hanging up or taping down plastic sheeting.

This tape is a advertises multi purposes such as hanging, patching and seaming poly sheeting. It also indicates it can be used for masking doors and windows for painting projects. I found this tape to be very adherent and will stick to most any surface. It is fairly difficult to apply by way of its stickiness. It is easily removed without leaving any residue. It tears unevenly unlike duct tape so a knife or scissors may be needed for a straight cut. I would not recommend it for painting projects. I would recommend it for parcel packaging, patch work and in some instances for hanging objects in place.

The Nashua Tape 1.89 in. x 54.7 yd. Residue Free Poly Hanging Tape is a nice alternative when you need the strength of duct tape while being able to remove it later without damage. I use this tape for painting. I find that most tape advertised for paint masking doesn't stick well and, because of this, allows paint to bleed underneath. Because of this tapes adhesion I don't have that problem. The way it is designed, it can be removed without leaving residue behind. Two points to keep in mind: make sure whatever you stick it to has a solid surface because it will pull off loose/fresh paint, and, paint doesn't really stick to the surface of this tape so I would advise allowing it to dry then expect a little light cleanup of the flakes that fall off after it is removed. Good tape at a reasonable price.

This Nashua Residue Free Poly Hanging Tape is just under 2 inches wide and 54 yards long. I have found it is good for masking, sealing a tear on plastic drop cloths and does not leave any residue behind when its removed. I used it to mask a metal part before painting and it left a sharp line and peeled off cleanly. It also sticks well to plastic drop cloths which I found easily tear and leak. This tape is not as easy to rip as duct tape but it can be done by hand. I am sure I will find many more uses for it. A good product to have around the house and shop.

A plastic tape that acts like duct tape but leaves no residue when you remove it. Didn't remove the paint from my project when I removed it like duct would have. Stayed in place where I put it till it was easily removed. Listed as being for plastic sheeting for taping off for painting but it works for lots of projects. In many ways I like it better than duct tape because it has a little more structure to it. Didn't roll and stick to itself in the wind like duct would have. Was able to work with 30" pieces without wind ruining it and making me use a different piece as duct would have. Easy tear serrations along edge for easy tearing. Cost same as duct tape

This tape is fantastic for hanging plastic sheeting. I didn't know this tape existed until recently, so for years I've been using the standard blue painters tape. This tape is much tougher than the blue tape, sticks great to plastic sheeting, and sticks really well to most surfaces to hang the sheeting. I tested the tape with pieces of plastic sheeting and stuck it to 8 difference types of surfaces around the house. I tried walls with flat paint, semi-gloss paint, unpainted textured drywall, stained wood, unfinished wood, melamine, and hard plastic. The tape stuck to the plastic sheeting very well and never had an issue there, and stuck very well to nearly all of the surfaces. On the surfaces I tested, there were only two that were slightly tricky. Due to the soft surface and dust, the tape didn't adhere quite as well to unpainted textured drywall. It worked okay, but could be pulled off easier than other surfaces--which is understandable. The other surface to be careful with is stained or delicate wood without a top coat or varnish. The tape adhered well to the wood, but if the tape is removed aggressively, it can rip off some of the wood fibers from the surface. So you'll want to be gentle with bare wood. But it worked great on painted surfaces and everything else. Even when I quickly ripped the tape off, it didn't damage the paint. Very impressive stuff. I will be using this tape for hanging plastic sheeting going forward and will leave the blue painter's tape for masking.

This tape is very sticky and quite strong, it is a smooth vinyl type tape works good for most things you would us duct tape for but doesn't seem to leave any sticky behind when you pull it off. You do have to be a little careful when putting in on paint, if the paint is not well adhered it will pull the paint off when you take off the tape. I also stuck it to some foil backed foam insulation and it pulled the foil right off. They say it is good for masking, but the edge of the tape is corrugated so it leaves that pattern, which could be kind of cool for a special effect. I think the reason for the corrugated edge is so that you can tear it. Also when used as a masking tape the paint does not stick to the smooth surface of the tape so you end up with dried paint flakes on the floor. It also seems to work well for packing tape. Or even decorating. Most solvents in small quantities don't bother it. All in all seems to be a very good tape.

Nashua Poly Hanging Tape doesn’t leave residue which makes it perfect for a variety of projects. From masking surfaces you don’t want painted to securing the plastic sheeting over a wall air conditioning unit over winter, this tape really does the job well. It is strong and durable, adheres well to the surfaces, is easy to cut if necessary, and is easy to remove afterwards, leaving no residue whatsoever. And it does not take off the paint when removed from the wall. A nice upgrade from the old duct tape that always leaves a gooey residue that’s hard to remove and tends to damage the surface. The tape is just the right size for the task, 1.89 inches wide and is over 50 yards long so it will definitely be used for the multiple tasks around the house. It is smooth to touch, and when you touch the adhesive side, you start thinking how it will hold up, but it does just that, is holding up real well and can be easily repositioned if necessary. The contractors used this tape when doing kitchen remodeling following a plumbing leak from the upstairs; they ended up having to tear down the entire ceiling; this process had produced quite a bit of dust flying about. They used this Nashua tape to hang the plastic sheeting over the doors openings, so that the dust won’t get into the living room and some other areas. The contractors told me that this was the best tape for a variety of applications. The Nashua tape is going to get lots of use, come the upcoming Christmas season, for hanging wall decorations, banners and such. I gave it a try and it is holding up well. This is the only tape that holds onto the brick walls leaving no residue when removed, and I will never go back to the old duct tape again, or to the painters tape because the latter can’t hold much weight. I just can’t say enough good things about this tape. I used it to repair a dog food bowl, and it came out great. I am certain that I will find more uses for this tape at home. I really like it and highly recommend to anyone.

This Nashua Residue Free Poly Hanging Tape is very heavy duty and extremely tacky. It can be cut easily with 2 fingers, but at the same time a small piece of tape can hang at least a 50 lb material! It can also be removed easily with no leftover residue. The Nashua tapes are a trusted name since very long time to all the building contractors as well as the home owners. They make a variety of tapes for various kind of applications. Mostly everything is made in USA, and they are the best and most reliable products when it is time to do some new installation or repair work. The reason why it is well known to all is because it gets the job done right, the first time and every time. A great product from Nashua, and I do recommend it to all building contractors, and also DIYs as well as home owners.

Suprisingly strong, no-residue plastic tape. The thick Heavy Duty tape itself is a bit "rubbery," allowing it to stretch just a bit. But that also means that it has the potential to deform, and stay that way. For example, if tearing you push your thumb into it, you'll never get that piece flat again. The tape is also STRONG. Surprisingly strong. Pretty much just as strong as your standard duct tape. Another massive positive is that there is NO RESIDUE left from this tape. I tried on wood, paint, drywall, tile, etc. After a few days, the tape peeled right off, without even a minute trace left letting you know it was ever there. One interesting thing is that the edges of this tape are wavy. This is both good and bad. Marketed as a masking tape, this would leave a small squigly pattern instead of a perfectly straight edge - that's bad. The good is that these little waves make it quite easy to tear. Not as easy as paper tape, mind you, but much easier than, say, clear packing tape. SUMMARY Stretchy and easy to tear, this thick plastic tape can easily take the place of duct tape for most applications. It is strong, and leaves NO trace of residue on multiple surfaces. Wavy edge makes it easy to tear, but won't leave a straight edge for masking purposes.

tape sticks great in all weather so far. Made it through the hot now will see about the cold.

Bought it to hang poly sheeting in homes when prepping for demo and abatement as I had heard that it was excellent for that application. Unfortunately, I found that the tape would stick marginally well to the plastic sheeting, (I am typically using a decently heavy 6 mil plastic sheeting and it would peel off without much resistance when jostled, which is somewhat problematic when taping plastic off around doorways) and stick pretty well to ram board when attempting to seal edge along the floor, and would peel off the walls after a day or two. it did not quite suit my needs, and I have the rest of a case to work through. I was hoping for something that would be capable of holding the plastic sheeting up, or at least being tacky enough to continue sticking past a couple days of containment. It might just be that the tape was designed to work with some of the lighter weight plastics. I might give them a try on the next job, but I like the 6 mil as it will resist puncture and hold up a bit better on mid to large sized jobs when I expect to need to contain dust and debris longer than a day or two. As a side note, I am also using zip walls, so the tape is not needing to hold up the full weight of the sheets in most cases. I will have to test with a lighter plastic to see if it is indeed the weight that is causing the tape to separate from the walls themselves or something else.

This tape is hard for me to use as masking tape. It needs to be cut rather than torn and I prefer free hand masking. It tends to stretch before tearing and when it does tare more often than not it tares crooked. On one occasion, I started a strip and one side stuck to the roll causing a linear tare that was seam straight as if cut by a knife. It was difficult to even up. I think I could have continued indefinitely. Later when I tried to create a narrow strip I couldn’t do it. I do like it for other purposes, like the manufacture say “hang, patching and seaming”. It is tough and retains its adhesive properties well so it can be repositioned. I do recommend it for those purposes just not for masking the way I typically do it.

Wow! This tape is great and extremely versatile! Its hard to get excited about a roll of tape, but you'll be pleasantly surprised by this tape! This tape is the best of both worlds! When you need to hang painters plastic or poly sheeting, you want something that is strong enough to hold it to the wall, but something that won't damage your wall. This tape is it! Highly recommend!

After receiving this excellent poly tape though Home Depot Seeds program, I ordered more due to its high quality and excellent properties not available in other products.

This tape is quite strong adheres well, but is easily removed without leaving any residue. It does not tear, but it must be cut with a scissors or sharp blade. It is almost 2" wide and would be good for masking before painting, caulking or drywall repair. The adhesive quite adequate without being overly adhesive or presenting difficulty in removing. Because it has a slick or glossy surface it may resist tearing the pain along masking lines.

This tape works really well adhering to plastic sheeting as long as it is not covered in dust and dirt. I used it to attach several 2 mil thickness sheets of plastic. After the painting was done, the tape was easily removed and did not leave any residue of glue and unlike duck tape it was fairly easy to pull from the edges of the overlapping plastic. Not for use on the cheapest and thinnest drop plastic sheeting as it is much too strong for the "food wrap" super thin plastic.

this item is very good for painting job. I was not excited to of seeing same blue tape for my painting projects. This teal color is absolutely beautiful. it is 54 yard tape so you just need 1 roll of tape to paint the whole 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. It sticks easily and peel off very easy. It doesn't leave any residue after the removal process. Overall I really like the product.

This is a good tape for masking paint lines, but be careful that it is used on a good paint surface as the stickiness will pull off loose or peeling paint. It is very useful and much stronger that blue painter's tape for hanging things like sheet plastic to many surfaces, nit just drywall because of the greater stickiness. Because it comes in red, it can also be used to "make" letters for a durable sign.

This tape is used to mask for painting and to hang or join vinyl or plastic sheets together.It has a slightly perforated edge, but creates a sharp line when used for masking surfacesto create a sharp paint line. Make sure the surface has good paint as this tape is much stickier than the blue paint tape and will pull off loose paint when removed. With the bright color, it can be used for signs.

This is a great tape, love the color bright red so easy to see, It is thinned than duct tape and wanted something that was a little more flexilbe. Using it was a breeze and loved how after I rolled it out then finished taping on a rolled area, it seemed to seal it self very well. used it about a month ago and the tape seems to holding up very well. I highly recommend this tape for your household use.

While initially thinking that this tape could be used for sealing or repairing tears in polyethylene (poly) vapor barriers in house construction, I could find no reference for this use on the package label. While it states that it is “ideal for hanging, patching, and seaming poly sheeting," unfortunately I believe that this only refers to temporary uses such as poly sheeting used for protection such as painting drop cloths. A lengthy visit to the manufacturer’s website for additional information proved to be frustrating, and another search at the parent company, Berry Plastics, proved to be equally frustrating. It seems that Nashua has been absorbed or purchased at least a couple of times in the recent past, and relevant information is difficult to find. An email to Nashua requesting information went unanswered after a week. Too bad a leading manufacturer of tape products for the construction industry couldn’t be more forthcoming with information about its products. For use as temporarily securing poly to walls or repairing tears and joining seams, this seems to be a fine product. I found that it did not leave any sticky residue on the surface when removed, and held much better than the blue masking tapes normally used. Since it is much stickier and holds more securely, I found it needed to be removed more slowly to avoid pulling the paint off.

Look no further, this the hanging tape for you! This tape is exceptionally sticky. Even though it can hold a ton of weight and is extremely sticky, it leaves no residue exactly as advertised. Additionally, you can easily tear it with your fingers! If you do want to use this for painters tape, it will definitely exceed your expectations. It does not leave the residue and doesn't allow for paint to bleed underneath it. Due to this fact, this tape is perfect for multipurpose!
