I had bought a bulb similar to this a few years ago and they didn’t work. Decided to try these. They work great even in a recessed covered entry way. I would also recommend installing the light switch guard, also from Home Depot, which keeps the switch from being accidently turned off. You can still access the switch should you need to turn it off. Love lights that work automatically!

Light bulbs work perfectly. No issues coming on or shutting off even in cloudy conditions. Will definitely buy more when needed.

Very Good and satisfied with this product. It will switch on when really dark on, switch off when it is bright. Tried 3 different type, the generic one is cheaper around $ 2 , the adapter for regular bulb, adapter for LED bulb only, all do not work properly(still ON when it is bright, then still OFF when it is dark), but Philips bulb works properly, great product, will buy again this kind of bulb

Where have these been all my homeowner life?! I don't know why we didn't know about these before, but they are amazing. What a wonderful feeling to come home to a house that is lit up. Not only does it feeling welcoming, it feels safer. The easiest and cheapest thing you can do to provide a bit more security to your home. I recommend these to everyone!

Installed about 4 weeks ago in an enclosed outdoor fixture. Works great! Turns on and off when it's suppose to. Doesn't matter which way the photocell is facing. Plenty of light! Highly recommended!

I was worried when I bought these that if their sensor was facing the wrong way (when screwed in to the light fixtures) they wouldn't work very well. Turns out no matter which way they face, they work GREAT! They come on about the time it's getting too dark to see the end of my driveway, which is about a quarter acre from my front door. The color is the same as the incandescent bulbs they replaced. These were a much cheaper alternative to replacing my three outdoor light fixtures. I have zero complaints about this product and I'm considering purchasing more for use inside the house.

Been using 2 in outside lights by garage - about a week now and they seem to be working fine. We just leave the switch on all the time and they come on each evening and turn off each morning just as we hoped - saved us from changing the light fixtures which are perfectly fine otherwise. I had some doubts when I tried to test them out in a lamp - I got them to work only once either to turn off or to turn on, but I had to flip the switch to get them to reset to go the other way - I am guessing there is a timer chip to keep them from flickering on/off at dusk or dawn or when headlights might sweep by them. The sensors happened to end up pointing sideways but it has not affected them - they sense the ambient light just fine. We have other flood lights around the back side that work on motion sensors that seem to do fine but it was always a pain to remember to turn on the garage lights for my wife who usually arrives home after dusk. These fit the bill perfectly.

I am very happy with this product. I no longer have to add a dawn-to-dusk sensor to my porch lights. I wish Philips would also make indoor/outdoor floodlights with built-in sensors.

I installed these on the Home Decorators craftsman round oil rubbed bronze fixtures sold here, that has an yellowish glaze glass cover. Bulbs come on at sunset - my house faces due west so not sure if that helps or not. Nice and bright too.

Functions as advertised

I purchased 2 of these bulbs and put them in my new lights outside my garage door. They work great, coming on at dusk and are off when I get up, usually after dawn. Hoping they continue to work for a long time!

I loved the reliability that this dusk to dawn bulb provided and it worked great for almost 1.5 years (installed on 4/22/2019 and quit working a couple weeks ago) and then it just quit working and now the sensor just lets off a loud buzzing noise at night and it no longer turns on at night. Might be just a fluke with this one bulb but they are supposed to last a lot longer than that so I went out and bought from a different brand and will see how this brand lasts.

Did not meet expectations. I had to constantly adjust the bulbs so they would work.

Working well but hard to screw in

A19 bulbs with integral photocell turn on (at dusk) and off (at dawn) as advertised. Lights stay off during the day even when cloudy and rain is imminent.

Dusk to dawn function works perfectly. Nice warm light like an incandescent, not the bright bluish common with LEDs.

Efficient bulb and works as described.
