Regarding cleaning your rugs, this vacuum comes with a round dusting brush and a master nozzle, which can be quite effective for carpet or floor brushing. Additionally, it includes 1-7/8-inch accessories. However, if it still doesn't meet your requirements, you may return to Home Depot store within 90 days of purchase in accordance with their return policy. Thanks for writing a review and we’re sorry to have learned your issues. The VT2525 muffler/diffuser is designed to disperse the airflow of the air coming out of the exhaust. Because of the way the product is designed, there is also a small reduction in noise level and it also can improve the pitch of the exhaust noise on most vacs. If you are using the vacuum for prolonged period of time and or in smaller spaces, we do recommend using ear protection.
