I have to agree with almost everyone who has ever used these, they are FANTASTIC. If you already have one+ tools/batteries this light is a no brainer. It is supper bright, doesn't heat up like halogen, and runs a LONG time on the battery. The bonus is, even if you don't have a battery, you can plug an extension cord into the back of these and run them like that. I attached a few pics of when I had to get up into my unlit attic space. The light these put out is incredible! And as you can see the base is funtional in allowing you to hang it on a 2x4 or over a door if painting a room.

The light is crisp white and will easily fill a large room and runs all day or night on one battery. The stand is where this guy earns its spot in your first grab tool bag, it's made to hook onto 2x4's and works equally well on doors and decking and with the 120V option you can save the use of your battery for the power tools.

Perfect.  I previously relied on a cheap plug-in halogen light to illuminate my workspace.  Never again will I use outdated and inferior technology.  This work-light is absolutely perfect in more ways than I can capture.  The hybridization between plug-in and battery operation has let me use it at home and off-grid at recreational property I own.  It's allowed me to perform maintenance tasks in the middle of the night in the middle of the woods.  Even when operating off batteries, the performance doesn't suffer and the battery life is impressive. This work light is a constant companion; in fact I have used three times in the last week to replace a sump pump in a corner of my basement, replace electrical switches in my dining room, and while renovating a closet in my basement that was formerly used as a wine cellar.  I couldn't be happier with this light, for demonstration I've attached photo's of its performance--using battery--against a plug-in HDX model I own.  The difference in quality and illumination speaks for itself.  A must-buy for sure, I highly recommend this light.

Very impressed with this LED worklight. If you have a few of the 18v batteries I'd pick up one of these! It can accept an extension cord but I will rarely if ever use that feature.

Worked great. Then failed. Free replacement now works great!
I recently replaced my 500 watt halogen with an LED model (from a competitor) only 1000 lumens, However, I stopped by Home Depot a few days later, I saw this "new" LED work light, with TWICE THE LUMENS. Though, twice the price, the Ryobi has 1700+ lumens. As I am already a One+ Ryobi "family", I purchased it (along with a sale priced 2-pk of Ryobi's 4x Lithium batteries). I returned the other brand to the other store. This RYOBI dual power work light IS GREAT. Fairly solid/sturdy (hard plastic) construction, various directional and hanging options (see picture) AND YOU CAN PLUG IT IN to an outlet! ONE PROBLEM: After a week of solid use (performing some basement repairs), the actually switch under the rubberized on/off switch would not turn off and the LED, which began to constantly flash on and off. Work light would not shut off unless the battery was physically removed. Reseated battery, plugged the LED into an extension = flashing issue unfortunately continued. Called customer service, and they said take it back to my local/any Home Depot for a FREE PRODUCT EXCHANGE. No fuss. Second worklight works great after a month of "light duty" use, which included 1 hour solid use during a late evening power outage. No other problems so far! (The picture I took shows the "chain link fence" hanging option working on a thin metal cross brace in my basement. It's also design for other hanging/screw in options as needed).

        Great Little Light!!
This is an awesome light. I love the Ryobi product line. Very useful for any task where better light is needed. Love that I can use battery or an extention cord. Low heat output compared to the old halogen worklights. When not used as task lighting, it lights of the garage workbench nicely!!

        Amazing Light
Love love love this light. I've had it for a month or two now and am currently using it while finishing a basement. The base slips nicely over 2x4s and ceiling joists and allows for perfect positioning. While raising a wall I forgot the light was 8 feet above me hanging from a floor joist and I knocked it free and it came crashing down! The light bounced several times, the big lithium battery came flying out and I had a few choice words for my clumsiness. I picked the light up, snapped the battery back in, and it continued on like a champion! Thanks Ryobi for making such high quality products! The only things I'd like to see on the next incarnation of this light would be two 20 watt LED chips that would allow for the choice of 20 or 40 watts of light. Weights in the base to add a touch more stability. A power switch on both sides of the unit as the switch can be hard to reach when hung on a header, and either recess the switch or mold a rim around the switch to reduce accidental actuation and subsequent blinding of one's self! All in all though this light is nearly perfect.

        Very practical Ryobi LED light
Previous to this light I had a Husky light that was not as bright as this one, also the color of the light emitted was harsh on my eyes. This Ryobi light is very powerful, bright and has a better CRI, I can see every thing around the work area. Very practical because it can be powered by 120 v AC using an extension cord or the very popular Ryobi 18 Volt Lithium-ion so you can use as a flash light in job sites were there is no AC power. I own already 5 Ryobi tools powered by this battery. This acquisition makes my collection even better. Good job Ryobi.

        This light is fabulous
This light is super bright. I wish I had it years ago. If you have the 18v batteries, you will want this. I got one hour of light out of the smallest lithium battery and 4 hours out of the largest. Your mileage may vary. It casts a nice white light, not bluish, and makes working in a dark spot so much easier.

Bright, Portable, Long running, won't break when dropped or burn you. You sill see stars!
This is a cool white light. Warm white would be a little nicer, but this will do for a work light. Great for dragging under the house to work on pipes or wiring so you don't have to run an extension cord for the light and you don't have to worry about getting burned if you accidentally touch the light. Also nice if you're in a hot crawl space to not have a hot quartz work light making you even sweatier. I got two for my lab at work when I'm working on electric vehicle chargers and one for home. Now I can use these for working under the sink, the house, looking for the cats at night, a bright wide area party or camping light that's completely portable no cords or generator. I can always bring more pre-charged batteries if I need more run time, and it's the same charger and battery I already have for the Ryobi LEAF blower, Chain Saw, drill, weed whacker, sawzall, circular saw, multi tool, right angle drill.... etc... The Ryobi ONE+ battery gives far more run time, power and light output (1700 lumens - like a 100 watt light bulb but directional) than any of the other rechargeable work lights that I've seen. Many of the other rechargeable lights don't have swappable batteries for more run time, it's another battery + charger system in your garage just for a work light. This ONE+ light solves all these issues beautifully - I've already got multiple Ryobi batteries from other tools that are ready to use with this light. Also the biggest ONE+ 4 Ah battery with the built in power meter is available at my Home Depot in a two for $84 - or $42 each. So I snagged a couple of those to feed all my Ryobi tools and this light. LEDs are just Cool! This LED work light using the ONE+ batteries with built in power meters is super cool! A half bright mode would be nice to extend run time and in cases when people look directly at it. If you look directly into it, you WILL see stars. I did, and I think the stars lasted for 5 minutes!

        Excellent, Near perfect Light
Found this online at the Home Depot website over 2 months ago. Been badgering the people at the Pro Desk since having them check almost daily to when they were coming in. Well, they finally arrived and worth the wait. Let me start off with this..I believe in the Ryobi product line. I have multiples of every single 18 Volt tool they make including some only offered in Europe. I am a contractor and having so many tools using the same battery is a dream. ( we have over 20 Lithium batteries on each truck). They hold up just as well and the bigger named brands and have a longer warranty and can simply replace just about anyone of them for around $50. Rarely have I had one fail in over 20 years of using them daily on job-sites. ( yes worn some completely out) Now to the Light. It is NUCLEAR Bright. and will fry you retinas out of your eyes if you were to look directly at them. Ryobi did an absolutely near perfect job on getting this light to flood the light evenly and not the typical spotting of the light of almost every single other LED lights I've seen or used. I have heard that this light should last for up to 4 hours on the higher amp 18 volt battery..Lets hope so and it will make it perfect for working under crawlspaces or other dark areas and only use 2 batteries for a full days usage. Plus a 3 year warranty. All the stores only received 4 of theses lights and I purchased 2 online for pickup..when I arrive someone was already walking out with one in her cart so obviously I wasn't the only one waiting for theses to come in. Yes, even the pictures were taken with a waterproof Ryobi camera too.

Great work light if you have the Ryobi 18v tools
This light finally showed up at my local store so I ran over to be the first to try it out. I have a bunch of the 18v ryobi tools so it was an easy decision. The fact that it can run of battery or a cord is a huge win for me. It also is LED so it doesn't burn through batteries very quickly. In my testing it pulled 23 Watts and .35 amps when turned on. That is less power then it takes to charge my iphone. There is only one power setting, but that is no big deal for me. It is BRIGHT. I'm very happy with the amount of lumens it puts out. It's also cool to the touch unlike my old halogen which was nice in a winter garage, but toasted me all summer long. The hanging hooks worked great, but I was surprised to find the base wouldn't fit on a standard door (see picture). It worked great on the fridge doors but I'm not sure what size they were thinking when designing the base. Otherwise, no complains, just don't use a locking extension cord, not a lot of room to slip fingers in to disengage (see pic). I'll see how the unit lasts over the long hall riding around in the truck, it's all hard plastic but that keeps it nice and light. I paid the full price ($70) and do think it's a bit much compared to a cheap halogen but I'm a sucker for LED technology and having 8 18v ryobi batteries made it an easy decision.

This is a great light. I Love, the fact that it has different light level settings. Very bright when you need very bright and not so bright if you’re using for background light.
