These are a waste of money, in my opinion ...I installed them according to the instructions...it rained...and they did not do the expected job. I took them down and purchased regular style rain gutters.

I really like the rainhandler system. It was easy to install. Makes me wish I had done this on the rest of my house instead of gutters.

This product performed as advertised. However, it did not meet my very specific need. If you are considering it you should definitely watch the youtube video from "This Old House" titled "How to Install an Alternative to Gutters". However, in my situation water coming off the back of the sloped, flat-roof of my porch-lanai drops straight down and splashes off of a row of flat paving blocks to hit the screen near the bottom. This splashed water coming through the screen results in the stone floor area inside the screen staying wet/damp for long periods which then produces a strip of black mold on the floor about 18 inches wide. I installed a Rainhandler panel per instructions and it did spread the water exactly as advertised. But, during heavy rain periods too much of the spread was still hitting the paver blocks and splashing against the screen. If I were willing to remove the paver blocks and install grass right up to the edge of the lanai's concrete foundation the Rainhandler would be my method of choice to keep the roof's runoff from gouging into the ground.

The rain must be coming down at a good rate for it to hit the rain handler. During a slow drizzle, the water continues to run down the facia board. When the rain comes down very hard, it passes over the rain handler. For my house it just doesn't work.

I bought this based on youtube video demonstrations. Lightweight product build quality is good & installation is easy. It does not perform as suggested though. Half if not more water still falls straight down. The water it does flick away travels maybe a foot. Not the 2 to 3 as advertised. This is in no way a suitable alternative to real gutters.

I started with just two sections, to test it out over my hedges. Wow, they exceeded my expectations. First, they were VERY easy to install. Second, they WORK exactly as described. I had a big, deep groove in the dirt under the roofline. But the rainhandlers break up the rain, and disperse the water over my hedges. Groove gone, hedges love it, and there's no river of water from downspouts. Unless I want a water barrel under a downspout, I plan to use these more.

Great product, but a couple points to make...- it is engineered to work within certain standards, within an inch of the drip line, and every house is different, so why not make the product wider? - another point is that fascias on old houses are rarely the same measurements so take that into account

We’ve had these on our cottage for years and just wanted to add them to the garage. They work great at dispersing rain runoff from the roof and keeping it from wearing off deck stain and from making a rut in garden beds. Plus they don’t get clogged like gutters and there is no need for downspouts.
