It does every thing I expected it to do. Easy to install and had everything needed to install. I think Home Depot should offer the 20 amp model also.

This switch was easy to install and works as advertised. Did not install it at the breaker panel but instructions were clear and the electrician was able to install it right next to the furnace. So nice that the home stays warm if the power goes out.

Works, easy to install, looks professional
It did not take long to install correctly, works, and looks professional. What more could I need? Well for less than $100, it makes my prortable generator a good approach to keeping my house warm and refrigerator cool in case of an outage. Excellent.

Fine Device - Little Pricey
Fit and finish of this device is very good. I wish it was a little less expensive. I would have given a 5 star review if it was $75. It cost me $93. Oh well..

    A great product. Excellent instructions.
Every aspect of this product is great. I purchased two transfer switches (at different times) and I always received very quick delivery. I am very pleased with the entire transaction as well as the switches.

    Easy to Use
I needed just one circuit controlled. The unit was simple to mount and easy to install. The instructions were easy to follow. The unit works fine. I have another 6 circuit unit and it works great also.

    Exactly as advertised.
I bought this to transfer power to my gas furnace from line to generator. This makes it really easy. Just plug in an extension cord from the generator to the transfer box (plug included) and throw the switch. Warning - if you're not comfortable dealing with AC, hire an electrician. However, if you are careful and follow the directions it's easy.

    Easy to install
Installed on the single circuit feeding my natural gas hot water furnace in case of a power outage. Connections to the main breaker was quick and easy. Installing an outside receptacle to feed the power to the transfer switch took the most time, but worth it instead of running an"extension cord" from the outside. Perfect for single circuit isolation of appliance's less than 15 amps.

Another well made, easy to install product from Reliance
Bought and installed this furnace transfer switch for a friend who didn't want the expense of a multi-circuit whole house unit. For someone who only wants to be able to heat their house with a generator in an emergency, for about a hundred bucks, this is the way to go.Reliance makes good stuff. I've installed one of their 10-circuit kits in my home and helped a neighbor install another. They provide great technical support through their website and by phone.Since this switch is grounded directly to the main panel during installation, the generator requires no additional grounding cable, as long as it's plugged into the transfer switch. You can still run additional extension cords from the generator to power additional needs in the house.

Well constructed product with fool-proof operation.
This is a reasonable alternative to complete load center switching for safely applying generator power to one circuit. Installation is fairly simple, but the installer must be aware that even with the main breaker turned off, lines into the load center from the street are still active. A sketch in the instructions shows the grounding/neutral bar on the left side of the load center and the active lines on the right side. My load center has the grounding/neutral bars between the active points. While the instructions caution about accidental contact with active points, it should be noted that in addition to a shock hazard, these points have no current limiting and could cause serious sparking if shorted to ground via a tool, etc. In operation the device provides a path for the generator's ground to be tied to the building ground, a bonus feature.

    Excellent Product!!!
Easy to install. Allows homeowner to utilize portable generator to power the furnace in the event of a power outage. Only 4 wires to connect. Saved money by installing it myself without the need to hire an electrician. Quick tip: Can test unit without starting the generator. Simply run an extension cord from another electrical outlet and plug it in to the transfer switch. If you went to the trouble of buying a generator you should definitely buy this product to ensure you can heat your home if the power outage occurs during the winter months.

This product is easy to install
It does what it is designed to do. I have installed one on the heating system breaker and one on the refrig breaker and I have purchased 3 additional switches for the fish tank, microwave and coffee pot and master bedroom breakers. It is a easy solution to automate a home generator system. If I loose power all I have to do is start the generator and throw 5 switches. It can't be easier than that. It beats running cords through the house.
