Easy to install. Less than one hour. Worked perfectly when tested.

Very easy to install. I use it to run my Furness in the event of a power outage. I can run a cord outside and plug in a generator until power is restored.

I replaced the NORMAL light switch that is next to my furnace with this So I can also turn the circuit off from my panel and then have the option to change to Generator with this. Also the normal switch i had did not have a fuse.. This does.

Quick delivery. Packaged with all parts. Plenty of extra length wire. Relatively easy install. Tested first with regular extension cord and then with generator power. Piece of mind that we are ready for an unexpected outage.

"Had this installed when electricians replaced my panel so I could power my furnace fan with a generator. I am pretty handy with electrical but left it for them. Installation is quite easy though. You essentially just reroute the hot through the switch and put all neutral and ground wires on the ground bar. I attached a picture of the set up with the open panel. The red hot from the switch goes to your breaker, black goes to the circuit. The switch is easy to use; all power for the circuit goes through it and I keep it on ""LINE"" when the panel is powering the circuit and ""GEN"" for when a generator is powering it. According to the instructions, you can keep a power generator plugged in when you switch. I did and it worked fine. The light on the switch turns on when it has generator power. This is a very convenient product that homeowners should have on their panel for important circuits."

Installed at the furnace instead of at my power panel since the panel is in a bedroom closet and I didn't want to tear up the Sheetrock to do it. See Picture. Added yellow 12/2 wire between new duplex outlet box and furnace. Wired transfer switch using the included flex conduit to the outlet box. Made all connections in the outlet box. End result: My UV air purifier light is on the protected circuit along with the furnace. It all works quite well, and I'm thinking of getting another transfer switch for a different circuit that I'd like to protect. Took maybe 20 minutes to think about how I wanted to install this, a trip to the local store for the outlet and box, and about an hour to install and clean up the area. I like it, and it's clean and simple. Mounted everything high up on the wall to keep it out of the way, but still reachable when I need it.

The description leaves out the critical information that this transfer switch is NOT compatible with a Bonded Neutral Generator. In its only compatible with a Floating Neutral Generator. For a Bonded Neutral generator you need the Reliance TF152W to ensure that the neutral is also switched per the electrical code and your safety.

Safe, economical way to connect gas furnace to small portable generator to have heat during a long outage. Installation was straightforward (assuming there is enough space near the main panel). Note that if you plug it into an outlet to test it, it won't work on a GFCI (the way the neutrals are connected looks like a ground fault to the GFCI even though there is no fault). One concern is that there is some small print on one of the stickers that came with it saying it is not for use with a generator which has the neutral bonded to the frame but there is no mention of this in the instructions or on the packaging. It works well with my floating neutral generator.

Unit works well. The description on HD website was not complete for my application. I was able to get the proper installation instructions from the manufacturer. I probably should have had a licensed electrician install it but I was able to do it after getting correct instructions. I have very basic understanding of circuits bu do not know about the components of.my furnace.

Had installed by a local electrician for 100 dollars and works great so far.

The Reliance transfer switch with older furnace heaters is great but newer furnaces have computer circuitry so the rough current from most generators won't work. You would need an inverter generator.

This is very handy to have installed if your heating system is on its own circuit breaker and you plan to heat your home using a generator in the future. Will make the changeover very simple. Someone will decent electrical knowledge and handy with tools can install this under in an hour as I have. It's all installed and tested and ready if needed.

Great product. Comes with a heavy duty piece of BX (armoured cable) and 10 ga. stranded coper wire. Every part is well built. You can remove 1 screw and loosen 2 others to remove the "outer part of the case" for easy access to the "innards". It is possible to install the 3 prong plug on the case "upside-down", so ensure you will have access to the 3 screws if the plug is installed first.

Quality product and easy to assemble/install

Well made product with quality materials. Easy to install. Checked it out with extension cord from outlet box nearby. I have not checked with generator. I mounted it to the block wall next to the main box. It took a little time to figure out how to get the female plug wired and mounted in box. Directions were not clear on this. Overall a great buy.
