Dear Home Depot Customer,
Thank you for your feedback and your interest in our products. We are authentically grateful for your having given our product an opportunity to perform in your home. We understand your frustration, and regret your inconvenience if our product has not met your expectations.
Our product however can be installed in windy areas and we would like to know more about your specific issue with your application. Our high quality retractable insect screen is designed with a little give so it is flexible and does not tear in the wind and can be installed in windy areas.
We regret your disappointment as we have worked hard over our 40 years in business, installing our retractable insect screens worldwide to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. Please contact our customer service at telephone 407-982-4744 or customerservice@retractablebugscreen.com, we would like an opportunity to make this right for you.
Our product can be installed in both normal windy areas and windy areas with unusually strong winds. However for areas with unusually strong winds some homeowners consider an internal installation inside the window jamb area closest to the inside wall of the home; so the window can be closed during periods of unusually high winds. Let me explain below:
Usually where to install the screen depends on consumer preference or space restrictions within the window jamb. Our product in normal wind conditions can be easily installed in 4 ways indicated below.
However in very very unusually high wind conditions, consumers might prefer installing the retractable insect screen internally as indicated in section 1 and 2 below.
INTERNAL INSTALLATION:
1. In the interior of the home inside the window jamb, with the retractable insect screen first element in the window jamb from the perspective of someone inside the home looking out the window and the window pane second in the window jamb. That is to say the insect screen is installed first within the window jamb, in front of the existing window.
2. Frontally; onto the internal wall adjacent to the window opening. So the header of the retractable insect screen is installed on the internal (wall on inside of the home) wall next to the window opening. For this frontal installation there is a frontal component that holds the retractable insect screen header installed on both the right and left sides of the wall next to the window opening. (This installation is helpful in situations where there is not enough space in the window jamb for both the window pane and the insect screen. (You will need about 1.8 inches of available space in your window jamb to fit our retractable insect screen.
EXTERNAL INSTALLATION:
3. External to the home (inside the window jamb but with window pane first element in the window jamb from the perspective of someone inside the home looking out the window and the insect screen second in the window jamb. That is to say the insect screen is installed second within the window jamb, in back of the existing window. (Assuming front of window faces inside the home and back of window faces outside the home.) So insect screen is essentially outside in this installation.
4. Frontally; onto the external wall adjacent to the window opening. So the header of the retractable insect screen is installed on the external (wall of the outside of the home) wall next to the window opening.
We appreciated your feedback and look forward to the opportunity to make it right for you.
Sincere Regards,
