Water softener had all the pieces we needed to replace our existing water softener. With easy to follow video instructions online we were able to replace it ourselves easily. Softener worked, was quieter than our last one, and met our expectations. Home Depot had it in stock and in the higher capacity we wanted. I also appreciate the military discount after a brief verification process.

Had wrong installation part in bag. I call Rheem and they would not overnight the part. Said it would be 2 weeks. Home Depot store manager was willing to work with me but did not have another unit like this. I returned the unit and bought another brand water softner.

RHEEM HATES THEIR CUSTOMERS
The bypass valve has been leaking since it was installed brand new 2 weeks ago. I have called and emailed Rheem every day since then and cannot get anyone to tell me anything other than “I have passed on your request for review.” Terrible company to work with I will never buy anything from them ever again. They clearly do not care about their customers.

    I wish I could find less than poor. I have had it less than a month and it stopped working, Rheem customer service is a joke and are less than helpful and sound irritated that you call for help. I would like to return it but it is installed and how do uninstall it to bring it back. A plumber offered to look at it for 350.00. That's half of what we paid!

    The wifi technology never works
    I am not to sure if the softner does anything because the only thing it shows is the salt level thats defind by us and after that it say x number of days left. Its got options like daily use but none of it work.

      Wi-Fi is garbage
      DO NOT BUY this if you want WiFi connectivity. I am an IT engineer, and figured people complaining just didn’t know what they are doing. NOPE, IT’S BROKEN. I’ve gone so far as to add a dedicated AP 10 feet away for only this connection, on its own VLAN using only 2.4K, and it still drops every day. There is no handshake reset, it just goes ghost and doesn’t return until physically unplugged. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE and Rheem and Home Depot should be ashamed to have not fixed this in several years.

        Great Softener
        System was easy to install. I had a previous water softener connection, however nothing was compatible and had to replace the bypass valve. Pipes were already in position, just had to install new connectors for bypass valve. The Web App installed relatively easy and does have some good info for current usage and today's total. But there is no historical data. I can get monthly but not yesterday. Best part, it has alerts for water usage, text and email. Did not raise my house water usage much.

          After a year I'm disappointed
          My Kenmore water softener died, and the home warranty installed the Rheem. Initially, I liked it a lot, Wi-Fi connection and app; all good. However, I only had it for about 18 months and it went out. The dial keeps spinning and the water keeps flowing thru the machine. Highly recommend everyone use the Cleaner to increase the years of warranty, my issues are reliability/longevity and the time it takes Rheem support to get parts to you under the warranty.

            The floor sales people really weren’t much help, but I didn’t need much. I had already researched water softeners and knew which one I wanted. Where I needed help was in getting someone to install it. Once someone pointed me to the “Pro” section, I was able to work with someone who really knew what I needed to do, and in fact, actually did it for me on his workstation. Had a great installation experience. The only weakness in the process was if I didn’t know which softener I should get, I doubt I could have gotten some competent help.

            I bought this model because of it's Wi-Fi remote monitoring. It is not at all reliable. I found a tech support number yesterday and talked to them. They were going to call me back they never did. I am considering just taking this softener out and returning it. Rheem has terrible customer service. Buy something else. Don't buy a Rheem.

            Do not buy.
            Do not buy this product. I purchased and installed this in the winter. It worked for a month. I ruled out everything that I could have done wrong and tested the treated and untreated water multiple times. They sent me an incomplete bypass valve that I replaced and now they want me to go through more steps. Aka refusing to replace or repair this defective unit. I have sent photos of my plumbing and water test results. Instalation is correct. Water not getting soft. Do not buy this product.

              neck of canister snapped off after 1 year.
              this product just made it past the warranty period before the bead canister snapped at the main clamp below the main valve. this caused water to push into my garage at full force and flooding, of course. phoenix garage space is not air conditioned and isn't typically climate controlled except.for being out.of direct sunlight.if such a catastrophic failure is a known thing in how climates where the water is the absolute highest of iron and hard PH..why would arheem not replace and honor a warranty or at least state that the 125 degrees on the warranty is actually 115 indoors in the shade. my guess is that it would sell nearly no units in the residential southwestern U.S.How dissapointing.

                I only gave it 4 stars because their app has issues. If you happen to turn off or reboot your phone/tablet you have to start all over. Email, password, wifi password and connect to the softener. What a hassle!! Now for the softner itself. Easy to install and setup, especially the programming. Best of all it is American made. Now for the extended warranty, I doubt that I will purchase their cleaner to extend the warranty to 5 years. Forgot to mention, the app showed that I was using water when I wasn’t and after checking for leaks in the house I discovered one of the toilets had a slow leak, 1/2 gallon per hour.
