Love these, makes watering my ferns so easy. You do have to be careful and hold the pot at the same time you pull the string or it free falls and the pot could come off the hook. The same is true once you want to raise the plant, hold the bottom of the pot and push it up slowly or it will come off the hook. But they are really well made and do the job.

I got these to hang LED lights for my seed trays. They work! Easy to install (drill a hole for a hook in the ceiling or floor joist, in my case) and hang the light. Raise or lower as needed.

These hooks work as described and I’m very happy with the performance. We use them on bird feeders and lower them to refill and bring in at night to foil the raccoons. But, you MUST follow the manufacturer’s warning to not let the hook fall freely while bearing weight or rewind without any weight as the spring inside WILL break. Luckily with three to a pack we had a spare. I’m fairly handy, so I took a crack a repairing it and came close, but gave up; getting the spring rewound and the cord rewrapped proved too frustrating. The break was my fault for not following instructions, but I took one star off because they require delicate handling. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

No, this product did not meet my expectations. When I lifted a plant off the first one, the pulley returned to the top so fast, it broke the the inner spring. (I had to open a second pulley to determine the problem.) So, the first pulley is broken. I plan to return these to Home Depot shortly. I have another set, and don't know where my parents got them, but there is no string attached. These work fantastic and is what I am looking for. A picture is attached, but I don't know where to find them. Thank you.

This is a good pulley system that works well. HOWEVER, the hanger system is very delicate. I have four 10 inch pots containing Boston Ferns in my atrium. The hanger lowers the pot when the lever is pulled. You must assist the plant, by putting your hand under the pot when lowering it so that it is lowered very slowly. You must not allow the plant to simply fall until it reaches the end of the tether. Also, you must never allow the plant to remain with the tether fully extended for a long period of time. In other words, you must always lower the pot, water the plant, then raise up the pot soon after lowering it. I completely lowered my 4 pots for a couple of days to give them more sun. 2 of the pulleys failed to function when I tried to raise them. Finally, if you fully extend the tether, without a plant attached, then pull the lever, and the tether snaps back into the pulley housing, kinda like a "pffft" sound, the pulley will be ruined. Still it's the only thing on the market that does what it does, and for a good price. I would definitely recommend this pulley, and I recommend you take my advice in using it, and buy some extras so that you can quickly replace thos that are ruined by not strictly following my recommendations.

I used the pulley to work as a herb lamp holder. I installed a shelf, attached the pulley to it along with straps hooked to the lamp to raise/lower the heat lamp for my niece. She was very pleased with the design and the ease of use with the pulley.....

I just installed 4 of these on our deck and used the pergola to anchor them - couldn't have been easier. And they work perfectly, but please read the instructions for raising and lowering as it can be tricky at first. I really like that the pulley use strong nylon webbing as the material for the retractable mechanism and not flimsy cord And for those complaining about the string hanging down, you can shorten it by removing the end cap on the plastic piece at the end of the string. Also, someone noted that the maximum weight was 22 lbs, but my instructions say to not exceed 8 lbs.

This works fairly well. It is not as good, or easy to use as the pulleys you carried last year.

This did not last long. The weight snapped the cord and my hanging basket fell to the ground. I would an extension chain over this product. I now have 3, if anyone wants them. They’re free!!

Didn't work as advertised.

With in one day one of these broke. I plan on returning, dont waste your time or money.

I can't wait for spring so I can hang flower baskets and will be able to care for them so easily!

I hung on small plant on this and tried to lower it and it ripped right off the pulley took them all back. If it broke holding a small pot how would it hold a big basket. Don’t waste you money.

After struggling to maintain hanging plants for years, this pulley system is beyond my expectations after reading some of the negative reviews. The most important instruction to follow is to be sure to support the planter when lowering or raising. A snap to water and turn weekly to ensure even growth. A must have for your hanging plants. I only wish it was available in white.

Broke first time I pulled my hanging flower pot up

It sort of works to move a hanging basket down to water it, but then it’s stuck and really hard to get back up. ☹️

I wanted to use these for my humingbird feeders but they aren't good for that. They spin and the birds are afraid to get close to them, They would be great for flower pots but NO for the birds

I expected a spring action to return the hanging plant to its position after pulling down and watering, but unfortunately it’s all manual so you’d better be ready to catch the plant when you release it!

In order to bring the bird feeder down to fill it, you have to reach it and pull it down, so it has to hang very low. I wanted to lower it from high in a tree. Also when you release, the pulley snaps very quickly up. Not smooth operating.

Two of them broke and they was hard to use
