Chipped
For the cost of these bricks, you would assume they won't come chipped/damage in my eyes.

REPAIR, REPLACE OR DO YOUR OWN THING
Well it's starting to get cold so it's time to prepare for winter. Last year I noticed that one of my inserts had plenty of broken bricks. I don't know how much heat escapes when this happens, but I do know that small things like this bother me, so after I get the pipe cleaned then these four broken bricks will be replaced. I know nothing about the making or what goes into a quality brick, these seem to be what others are made of as well. In case your unaware most bricks come in various standard sizes so know what yours is. The Rutland bricks are spot on for the size I need. As you can see by the packaging it's heavily guarded as not to break in the case and mine arrived just fine. These bricks are rated for 2700* F so they will stand up to your hottest of fires. Don't worry about flatness or size because all of them are perfect.

Fire, but not where you don't want it
Rutland makes a quality fire brick, and you won't be disappointed with these. I can't test getting a fire up to 2700 degrees Fahrenheit, but these did a great job for our backyard fire pit lining. No worries that they won't handle the heat. These are just the right size for dry stacking or lining a fireplace vertically. Sturdy but easy to chisel into the shape and size you need, you can't go wrong.

Safe and easy fire brick replacement solution
The Rutland Fire Brick are a direct replacement for my shop stove, which makes the updating very easy and safe. The edges are cut for a close fit, thus protecting the metal fire can for the higher heat containment. Not only the brick-fit-to-brick is correct, the Rutland bricks fit all the brick containment guides for the sides and base. Recommend the Rutland Fire Bricks for a home or shop stove replacement solution – easy and safe.

Probably not what the manufacturer planned but they worked great.
I do most of my welding on my 3/8 inch thick steel table at home but sometimes I need something portable and high heat resistant. I thought these fire bricks would work to keep the radiant heat from welding away from things I don't want to catch on fire while making a nice mini welding booth. They come in a nice box for easy storage and portability and their size allowed me to make a few different configurations depending on what I am working on at the moment. I ran a few test beads and moved the bricks to see if any heat was transferred to the material below and I my IR temp sensor showed no change. I can't ask for better than that. They would also probably make a nice fireplace or pizza oven and if I ever get around to making one of those I will look for more of these.

    Handy to have
I got these Rutland Fire Bricks as a standby replacement for my wood stove. The woodstove is my primary source of heat, so to have it operational is essential. Each year I have someone who comes to sweep out my chimney and clean the stove. Part of the process involves removing all the bricks, cleaning in and around them. If one breaks I need an immediate replacement. Having the Rutland bricks gives me peace of mind.

    Perfect for Pellet Stoves
The Rutland Fire Bricks are well made and have been a trusted name for quite some time. I will be using my new Rutland Fire Bricks to replace the original fire bricks in my pellet stove, which have lasted over 8 years. In the middle of winter, when the pellet stove is cranking, it can generate a great deal of heat. This makes the Rutland Fire Bricks ideal for this application, since they are rated up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. All fire bricks, including Rutland Fire Bricks, are inherently fragile, so some care should be used when handling them. If you need to cut them, this would probably best be done on a wet tile saw. The vibration of a saw or angle grinder, with a masonry or diamond tip blade, may cause excessive shipping and possibly even cracking. I am looking forward to seeing how they perform this coming winter. I have high expectations.

    Firebox Bricks
These Rutland Firebox Bricks for Fireplaces, Fire pits, pizza ovens and stove linings that are rated up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit or 1093 degrees Celsius are 4.5 inches x 9 inches x 1.25 inches Fire Bricks come six per Box. Rutland has been trusted since 1883 providing superior fireplace products that are always quality beyond compare. Having had wood stoves for a number of years I have found that Rutland Fire Bricks are the superior product to replace the inner lining on my wood stoves and have found that this product will last for a minimum of 10 years.

    2000F
These firebricks from Rutland are what I'd refer to as 'wood stove sized' at 1.25" thick, but at a fire rating of 2000F they can be used for many applications. In my case, these will end up as the base for a casting furnace. The face area is 6" x 9", but they can be cut (carefully) using a masonry blade. I was a little relieved to see all 6 bricks were intact in the box; while the branded box from Rutland is heavy-duty cardboard, shipping an item of this weight is always dicey.

    Perfect for my smoker
I love my smoker, but on windy or colder days it is harder to maintain temperatures. I picked up these firebox brick to line the bottom of the barrel and retain heat. So far they have been working great. I have been getting more consistent tempertures and it seems to be burning through less wood. The bricks are consistent sizes and arrived unbroken. They are pretty heavy, too. I can see these being very good for kilns, pizza ovens, etc.

This is a great purchase for our fireplace insert, highly recommend!
I was thrilled to see Home Depot carrying the Rutland 4.5 in. x 9 in. x 1.25 in. Fire Brick 2000 with 6 fire bricks included. We have a fireplace insert we've used for years and every year we have to replace broken bricks with new ones. In the past, we were buying the bricks one at a time at a small hardware store at really high pricing. We were not aware we could buy in bulk like this. We plan on ordering this product again!

Great for new projects or maintaining old ones related to fire place/inserts, fire pits and pizza ovens
The Rutland fire bricks were ordered to replace the failing refractory cement bricks that line my wood burning stove insert in my workshop. The Rutland bricks are made in the USA, something that makes me feel better about using. They measure exactly as advertised at 4.5" x 9" x 1.25" -a bonus for me because they do not take up as much room as the O.E. refractory cement bricks so I'll gain inches of length and some depth for larger logs. These Rutland fire bricks meet or exceed all current residential building codes and easily dry install. The bricks are somewhat fragile and should be cut with a diamond bladed saw (like a tile saw, which I found worked ideally) -they will become damaged if dropped or abused and are not meant to support significant amounts of weight. These bricks help reflect heat and should not be used as an insulator. The bricks are made of alumina silica. These bricks will work great in any wood burning stove or insert as well as fire pit or pizza oven (though not rated for direct contact with food), and I highly recommend them!

Great source for a fire proof brick
Rutland 4.5 in. x 9 in. x 1.25 in. Fire Brick, is a great source for a 2000 degree Fahrenheit fire box brick. They shipped in a thick sturdy box and no damages were found, they start off in a plesant tan color with no dust when the box was opened. I use them differently than intended, I use them as a fire brick during hot work with lead or when plumbing with copper in wall cavities. They are very tough as far as a fire brick goes, they live in a 5 gallon bucket and travel with me to different job sites and are always in one piece. They hold up well to the heat from a torch, so im sure they will last a good long timr in a fireplace.

    Good product, check sizes carefully
These are well packaged, six in the box, with cardboard between each brick. The bricks have good nice 90° edges all around. Pay attention to the size of the bricks, you may need to do some cutting (use a diamond blade in a circular saw outside). I replaced the bricks in my Irish made woodstove and needed to cut some to get them to fit in. (The old bricks did not fit so well either, so I ended up with a better lining than before.) As stated in the product description, the actual dimensions are: 9” x 4-½” x 1-¼” The width is exactly half the length which makes numerous layout configurations possible. Made in USA

    Great Fire Brick
Rutland…. 4.5 in. x 9 in. x 1.25 in. Fire Brick, You don’t have to have a fire place, pizza oven or even an outdoor BBQ to use this fire brick I picked this brick so that I could make myself a spot to keep my electric branding iron, hot glue gun soldering iron, and my wood burning kit (pictured below), and it worked out perfect, this fire brick is rated at 2000°F (1093°), each box contains six bricks and they measure 9” x 4.5” x 1.25” and Ivory in color, they are non-toxic and the best part is they are made in the USA.

    Fantastic Fire Bricks
These Rutland fire bricks are worth every penny if you want to build something to last. The bricks are priced reasonably and looks like they will last for years. They are not the lightweight bricks you find other places but are heavy and made to last. I've used these in the past in a small forge they will get red hot and hold the heat. I will be expanding my forge with these and look for them to last me for years.

Just what I needed for my wood burning fireplace.
Rutland 4.5 in. x 9 in. x 1.25 in. Fire Brick 2000F fit my fireplace perfectly. They are a nice solution for replacing your fireplace bricks yearly. The bricks come 6 in a box and have a fire rating of 2000 degrees F. I have one spot in my fireplace where I will need to cut one of these bricks. They can be cut using a wet saw like tile or stone. Made in the USA and very well priced.

Not only would I recommend them I am going to buy more when the time comes to replace the bottom bricks in my free standing Pacific Energy Summit. The insert Summit will definitely get these when it's time to rebrick! I had been dithering for several years about what to buy. THESE are the ONES, you don't need to look further and price is great too. It took 2 boxes to do the sides and back. Perfect fit on the full sized ones! Only a few scraps left over from the 2 backs bricks that needed cutting. Use a scraper to get all the old crud out of the corners before installing new bricks. These are nice heavy smooth surface (flat on one side) and would work fine for a Pizza / bread oven. Not to be confused with the light, fragile, porous, pumice OEM bricks. These are BRICKS. I made the two cuts needed using a 7 1/2" skill saw with a diamond masonry blade. They cut marvelously, fast and smooth and the blade was anything but new. Don't forget to ware a dust mask. First fire was kept low for several hours as a precaution. They have been in use for about 2 months and look forward to years of great service. Don't know why I care, but the surface burns clean rapidly if I get too cool a fire and they get sooty black. Can't think of one negative thing to say

Arrived on time and worked great for retaining heat while burning with an acetylene torch. I don't know that I would put a torch like that directly on it, but It held up pretty well without cracking, glowing red hot by the end (which you can see in the image at the back of the little burn chamber). I can't say how well these do structurally, but they worked great for my purposes.

The product arrived in a timely manner and was packed securely in a very nice box. The bricks fit perfectly into my fireplace insert. I could have used a couple more bricks but made do with re-using the old bricks to fill in the gaps.
