We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Argentine Bahiagrass and appreciate your feedback.

Bahia is one of the slowest germinating grasses 21 to 35 days. The seed germinates best between 60 F to 75 F. The seed needs direct soil contact to germinate, so if this was an overseeding, you should use a slit seeder to get the seed onto and into the soil. We recommend watering 1 to 2 times per day to keep the seeds moist Then we recommend watering about 1" to 1 1/2" per week as needed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. If a weed control is used around the time of seeding, it will either prevent the seeds from germination outright or destroy the seedlings as they emerge.

Bahia is one of the slowest germinating grasses and may take 21-35 days to fully germinate. For best results, we recommend watering 1" to 1-1/2" per week as needed. Excessive moisture or not enough moisture will cause germination to slow. Temperatures should be consistently between 60℉ and 75℉, the warmer the soil, the faster the germination.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Argentine Bahiagrass and appreciate your feedback.

Warm season grasses (Bermudagrass, Centipede and Zoysia), which germinate in early summer, require soil temperatures between 75 - 90 degrees (24 - 32 Celsius). The warmer the soil, the faster the germination. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination.

Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times per day to keep the seeds moist, until seed germinates. Then, we recommend watering about 1-1 1/2" per week as needed.

    Lies bad grass seed
This was a $100 bill down the toilet 10lb bag of grass seed and not a single blade of grass here in central Florida. I have irrigation running three to four times a day automatically to make sure the grass seed is staying moist and litterally not a single grass seed. Shame on you Scott’s overpriced junk literally feel like I’ve been scammed if even some of them grew I would of understood but not a single one!!!

      Lush Lawn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scott's Turf Builder Grass Seed, argentine/bahi grass has but lawn looking lush and full. I used my Scott's Elite Seed Spreader to make sure the seed was evenly distributed. I followed the easy to follow directions and it didn't take long before i had results.

        Nothing
I live in central Florida. I bought about 3 bags of this and planted according to instructions. This was after scalping half of my lawn and preparing the soil. It has been over a month with highly consistent, daily watering, and I have seen about 1/5 of the seeds germinate. Not happy. I realize this is a slow growing grass and it’s been unusually hot outside but cmon. Weeds are already overtaking where the grass should be. Do not recommend at all.

          No grass
I purchased 3 bags of this with not one blade of grass. I followed the directions on the bag and watered on days it did not rain. After 3 weeks not one blade of grass came up. A waist of money, I guess I'll have to buy sod now.

Bahia can take up to 35 days for full germination sometimes even longer. Soil temperatures must be 65°F therefore air temperatures must be consistently over 70°F. Cool nighttime temperatures will delay germination.

            Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts Argentine BahiaGrass was very easy to use. The directions were clear and the amount to use per area, I felt was accurate. The gras came in nicely. I would use this again when I need to overseed or touch up spots.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great just a little water and seedlings start to grow and thicken out.Product does not look like regular seedings but instead looks like regular granules. Regardless of appearance the product works! I have not been disappointed with SCOTTS products.

                Great grass seed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice packaging and clear instructions I use it to fill dead spots after applying some top soil. Raked it in and watered daily. 1 week later growth has started. Very pleased. I trust Scott to provide a quality product. They did!

                  Grass seed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lawn seeds that you sent did not germinate however it may have been due to my soil. I have amended the soil and I’m still looking for them to germinate. They get plenty of water there is a sprinkling system that comes on three times a week
