[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this measuring tape specially now it's domestic even more I love the 11 foot stand out on it I own 4 measuring tapes in this one's my favorite one to use also I have a Stanley 25-foot power lock that was my late father-in-law's I want to say it was from the 80s and yes I use that one still nobody can ever buy it

Stanley has some of the best products out there. I have always used a Stanley's FatMax measuring tape for over six years and recently purchased another a month ago. This 35' Stanley FatMax is very pleasurable, when it retracts it allows full control and retracts with ease. I have looked for this in many stores and could not find it. Home Depot carries it. Thanks a lot. I would not choose any other brand of tape measure! Yours truly, THE STANMAN

For the price and quality of this tape measure it is most definitely the best!!! Large numbers printed on tape!!!

I have been using this Stanley FATMAX 16' tape measure every day for the past 3 months. It's OK, but I have two major complaints: 1) The tape lock is hard to engage and disengage. You might say that's good that it doesn't come loose easy after it's locked, but the slider button is too stiff for me. 2) In spite of the claim and expectation that this "fat" tape would stand alone for several feet of unsupported length, my characterization of this tape is that it is "limp" and folds over too easily. See the attached photo showing how the tape folded over on its own weight when extended less than two feet with the tape held flat side vertical. Frustrating.

My second favorite tape measure the one I was looking for was fatmax auto lock on 16’ but you guys don’t carry that

Perfect size for interior trim . Lightweight but with a 10’ standout , I go through at least 2 of these every year

This tape measure is easy to read

I've been using FatMax tape measures for about 8 years, and the quality has definitely gone downhill. It seems like Stanley started using thinner metal for the tape and now they don't hold up like they used to. After the first week of normal use, it gets lots of creases and weak spots which compromises the structural integrity of the tape, making work a lot harder when I am taking measurements of 100+ inches. I'll be switching to another brand that will better fit my needs.

A standard..buy always could be improved on..there should be a protective tape on the 1st 4 '..the most used. Common failure of all tapes. If it's a Fat Max, then build it right!..oh yeah, still damm heavy..Overall, still the best...

Best tape measure on the market. Hold out is mush farther. Tape is more durable and last longer as well has having the Stanley accuracy.

Works freely, good product

Always use this tape measure great brand the only problem is the clip on the new ones I just bought, the belt clip is fragile an for my field work this is an issue, if this gets fixed I think I won't have to exchange on my next purchase

I am a carpenter by trade, and have been in the construction business for 40 years, it's the only tape I would buy, nuff said!!!

After having a 16' Fat Max break at the 3rd rivet, two months ago, I bought another one. I like the size, shape, and blade. The replacement just broke at the exact same place. The Stanley warranty states that they will not cover the tape if you allow the blade to recoil too quickly. It's a tape measure! I have a Stanley 25', that is over 30 years old. The blade is fine. If the blade slams back too hard/fast, perhaps they should reinforce the blade at that point, or weaken the spring. Normally I don't rant, but there seems to be an issue. I'm looking for another product.

Been using these tapes for years, the blade extends and doesn't kink, the lock works great,they retract consistently,they are rugged,accurate and they last.

The materials used are a lot cheaper than they were a few years ago. Plastic feels cheap in hand. Recoil is weaker. Feels lighter... too light. Stop cutting corners!

I carry one of these Fat Max tape measures in each of my vehicles. Small yet sturdy enough for quick measurements.

The ruler came off of the end easily and couldn't simply reattach as the 'spring' as it got pulled inside. The stop lever wasn't strong either.

Love Stanley, fat Max 16 footers. It is much lighter tape measure, which is always nice. I don’t need a 25 footer all the time so the 16 footer is perfect. I’ve only gone through two of them in the last five years. Sturdy and strong I just wish they were a little more reasonable, like the 25 footer.
