In full disclosure I received these in exchange for an honest review of the Timberland PRO Men's Direct Attach Waterproof 6'' Work Boots - Steel Toe - Wheat. Initial thoughts are the boots are truly waterproof, right out of the box, I tested that in my tub. They are comfortable and once they get broken in they appear to be a great fit. Since I almost never wear socks, even in winter I’m critical of comfort. They are well insulated so I have no doubt they should be warm but won’t know for sure for a couple months. I requested my normal boot size, they fit as expected so I say for me they are true to size. The leather is somewhat soft to the touch out of the box but once they are on you feel the typical new leather stiffness but not more than any other good leather product is at first. Now as we all know the real test is LONGEVITY I purchased my first Timberlands back in 1975-76. I was an avid backpacker and I gave them a major workout, practically wearing them every waking moment and through all 4 seasons. They finally broke down after 20-25 years, now that’s QUALITY. I have not had the same success subsequently with Timberland. I will say they did replace one pair, about 7 yrs. ago, that fell apart after a few months. My initial assessment is all positive, they will need to earn that 5th star in time. Time will tell if quality has come back to this once superior brand. If Home Depot allows me to, I will update this review, either up or down. Thanks Home Depot & Timberland for allowing me to do this.

The shoe is great and it does its job!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoes does its job. It provides the grip that I need, the protection and the comfort but standing for too long causes the ball of my foot to hurt. Im still not sure if its just me or the shoes, I never really had problems using my other work shoes.

Better Quality than the regular timberland boots
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This boot seems to be much better quality than the regular timberland boots...I still love the regular timberlands but this timberland pro is definitely a awesome alternative.

Disappointed
The only boot I've ever owned where the bottom sole completely ripped. Going back to a competitor boot

I would probably not choose the steel toe if bought again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The break in process was slightly discomforting between the mid foot and toe area .

Great product but mine have a defect
I've had these boots for about 2 years now, using them for my work in landscaping, and also using them as snow boots. They've held up great and show little wear considering what I put them through. They are comfortable, waterproof and keep my feet warm year-round. The only complaint I have is that on my pair, the tongues go to the side and allow water and snow to enter the boots. Even pulling them straight and tying them tightly, they still end up to the side. I'm sure that they don't usually do this, but it is a nuisance nonetheless because water and snow gets in, and they look off with both tongues going to the side.

Not sure I'll purchase this product again. Over priced
A few of metal grommets around the laces holes came off and the sole wore much faster than expected. For the price I paid, I expected better craftsmanship.

I would. They are comfortable and sturdy and look like BOOTS
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took alot of time and running around to many stores and not be able to find these boots. I am a brick and morter store shopper. I like to see, touch try on what im going to purchase. But was forced to find and order online. The only reason I bothered to order them was a had bought a pair of these boots what I believe was aprox 7 1/2 years ago and was still wearing them busted up and all until i recieved my new boots. If it wasn't that I had purchased a pair before and loved the way they felt and lasted i would not have ordered them at all on line. Never stop making this model boot and make it available for purchase in the stores. So much effort made to purchase and review these boots 15% doesn't seem like much. Thank anyway

Soles separate, boots will not last.
The uppers are in great shape, plenty of tread left, but the layers of the sole have separated. The middle layer has turned to a granular material so they can't even be glued or resoled. Pitiful material and lack of longevity, and company won't admit there is a problem. Don't waste your money on Timberland boots, go for another provider with a good reputation.

Toughest boots I've ever bought, worth the money.
I bought a pair of these boots 7 years ago and believe it or not they are still going strong (they look pretty worn but still in good shape.) I've used them for everything you can think of work wise and everything else I'm now only buying a new pair but I'll still use the old ones for dirty jobs, probably one of the best purchases I've made and definitely worth the price. I can't recommend them enough. And if your worried about the size go try them on in a store then order online. Or search for a deal but I'll be honest I don't mind paying the tag price because you get your money's worth. Hope this helps anyone else looking for a good all round work boot.

            Garbage boots, terrible customer service
Both boots soles broke in half in less than a year. I let them sit around till I had time to write to the company which led to being 1yr and 1 month and they said nothing they can do because its past 1 yr. So what they are saying is immediately after a year it's ok for them to completely fall apart... garbage boots. Garbage company. Never again.

              Avoid these at all cost
I have owned 4 pairs of these boots over the last 5 years. Each pair has failed in a different way. The latest pair is coming apart from the sole. I used to think these boots were well made but the quality is getting worse and worse with each pair. Do yourself a favor and look at different brands.

I can not believe these boots fell apart!!!
I bought these PRO boots for my college age son for Christmas last year. He works construction over Christmas break (3-4 weeks tops) and over the summer (May to the beginning of August). They have completely fallen apart in less than 6 months of wear. Holes in both shoes right past where the steel toe ends (2 holes each shoe) and he just walked in from work and showed me how the tread fell off today!!! Before I bought these PRO boots he was wearing just regular Timberlands...those lasted 2 whole years!! I thought these PRO were built to last or at least out last the regular Timberlands. VERY VERY Disappointed...

                  Not what im expecting
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a steel toed boots too but this one is so heavy. Packaging is awesome until the boots... It looks like it has been used before; just judging/comparing it to what the leather looks like. Front of right boot has lines indicating it was bent. I know timberland has return/exchange policy but unfortunately theres no timberland store here. So i have no choice but have it returned by mail and be refunded AFTER 2 BILLING CYCLE. Id rather have it exchanged with the right sizing and design, but well... Badluck.

Bought them . Wore then outside of work for a few months to break them in. 2nd day of work scrapped them on my casting cart (for parts ) and they ripped . Still wear them. But not happy

                      No.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to return the first pair I bought because the boot sole was tearing apart after less than 6 months using them as a tow truck driver. I'm going to use this new pair and see if I can give you a better review.

Saved me from an ER VISIT
Just recently bought a pair of Timbs Pro Series steel toes, and I'm glad I did! I was fortunate enough to go into a store and have them sized properly, because I needed a wide fit, which I never needed before. Anyway, only had them for about two weeks, so they're still a bit stiff. I'm on my feet about a solid 8 hours a day in a construction environment. Well, I was doing a demolition project the other day, nails, screws, tile all over the place. The next day I go to put on my boots and I see a nail head in the sole, I try to pull it out, no dice, so I grab a pair of channel locks and pull it out. It's a grimmy 1 1/2 old rusted nail, centered in the ball of the foot area. I'm pretty sure these boots saved me from having to go to the hospital. I also use insoles ( highly recommend ) so between both, no puncture, no shots, no ER visit. I'm hoping the boots will last for at least a year, but if not, they already paid for a copay, shots, meds, etc. Hope this review helps out.

                          Uncomfortable!!
I use these boots for work. They are very uncomfortable. After wearing them for 8hrs my feet swell up pretty bad.

                            Heavy & Uncomfortable.
These boots were comfortable only for the first couple months. They wore out very quickly. I even bought the better insoles. They were not waterproof as I expected. I would not buy these especially with the steel toe that hurts my toes.
                            by
No, I would not purchase this item again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When the boots arrived, they were scratched and damaged. I emailed customer service with NO response. I called to discuss with customer service and they informed I needed to email pictures. However, this was not very helpful because apparently customer service does not respond to your emails. I will not be making any other purchases from the website

Cut, split, stack wood? Gotta get a steel toed boot.
My foot size is 8.5 regular. The boot size is the same but it feels "spacious". Not too long or short or even wide but ample - enough to accommodate a thick sock. My advice would be that if your foot is low volume or on the small side of the size like mine, order down, if your foot is high volume, order your size, and if your foot is on the high side, order up. A size 8 might have been perfect for me but might not have been roomy enough for thick socks. It's a trade off. The boot leather is super thick but the boots were comfortable right out of the box. No break in required. So far they're holding up well. The steel toe has not been a problem in the winter cold or summer heat. It is not a factor except when a chunk of wood slips out of my tired hands. I had to learn the need of a steel toe the hard way. I only wish Timberland attached a pull loop to the heel. They put one on their loafers but not on a 6" boot. Unusual. A loop would help with the on/off process. What would also help would be lace hooks in place off the top two lace holes. With lace holes the laces have to be pulled down and out to loosen them to widen the boot for removal. You can't just kick these boots off. Neither of the above nit picks is a deal breaker. I love these waffle stompers.
