Made in the USA quality. Nice and thick, very dense. The pieces went together with ease, just step on the seams to get them to lay flat. I did notice that some of the color in the tiles were inconsistent but this didn't bother me at all. I used these on a concrete basement floor where the work-out equipment is. These give excellent grip and just the right amount of cushion.

These mats are very sturdy and work well in an environment filled with heavy things. They are a bit of a challenge to put together, but once together they are very stable. The rubbery smell that is noticeable when the first arrive goes away after a while. The side and corner sections make the mat square up nicely, so that there are fewer places to catch a foot or piece of equipment.

I got one box of these tiles to use in my work shop due to the length of time I'm on my feet. But I may also use them in my family room when I exercise. It doesn't take much time to relocate these. These are substantial, good quality, heavy duty tiles. I wanted the tiles to protect my carpet from wear, to have something that gives me a little more cushioning and more traction while I do exercise. I'm short and the area I work out in is small, so assembling the tiles in a 5 x 3 rectangle worked for me. If you are taller, two boxes would be better. These tiles were very easy to assemble and took less than 10 minutes. Unfortunately there is a strong rubbery odor, which I'm assuming will dissipate in a while. These tiles have a lot of gripping action both on the top where I workout and on the bottom, there is no sliding on the carpet. I feel I am able to get some more powerful exercise moves since I can push off without slipping. I had hoped to store the tiles fully assembled by slipping them under my sofa after the workout, but on their own, they don't slide. I have a large piece of cardboard that I put under them , and then they slide easily when I put them away. Other than the strong odor, I am very happy with these. I think these tiles would be great to use in a garage or workshop if you had to lie on the floor to fix something or did a lot of standing. They would stand up well to having heavy things put on them and wouldn't show any stains.

These should really last a long time! The tiles felt really heavy while I was putting them together and they provided great cushioning while I was press fitting the pieces. These are not the cheap ones you get from the exercise aisle at a big box store - they really feel like they would be at home in a commercial gym. The only downside to the heavy duty rubber and good tight fit, is that it takes working every joint with your fingers to make them fit flat. I will definitely order more of these. If you really want to use these for anything serious, you need 2-4 sets, as each box makes an area of about 3 x 4.5 feet.

I've had this product for about a week and overall I am pleased. The first thing I noticed was how thick and well made the tiles were. The product comes with large tiles and border/trim tiles that go together like puzzle pieces. Some of the tiles take a little extra effort to squeeze in, but they are easy to assemble for the most part. The tight fit insures there is no wiggle while in use. The reason for the four stars is the fact that even after being installed for a week the tiles still have a strong rubber odor to them.

These seem to be high quality flooring sections. While I know that they are made for use in gyms and weight rooms I am using them as a anti-fatigue mat in front of my work table in my shop. Much more comfortable than the concrete floor. Requires a little work to put together and a few sections needed a little persuasion with a rubber mallet to lay flat.

I wanted to review these tiles for use as an anti-fatigue mat rather than as flooring for a home gym so here are my thoughts and conclusions. I have tried various mats over the years and have never been satisfied with any of them. Some had a cloth on rubber configuration and others where all just rubber. The carpet topped mat looked nice until I spilled some stain, solvent, coffee, etc. on it. I’m sure that they would have been impossible to clean even if I wanted to try. The all rubber variety was ok but I didn’t like that they were so thin and didn’t really seem to cushion my feet while working in my shop. Another issue with the regular mats is that I could not find one to fit the floor space that I wanted to cover. These weight room rubber tiles have really solved many of the problems I had encountered. Firstly they are easy to configure to fit my allotted space and are fairly easy to install. When I had to cut a tile I found that a brand new carbide blade in my utility knife worked the best. Saw dust did accumulate in the open spaces of the tiles which does not bother me because it’s a wood/metal shop anyway. When blown out with an air gun they freshened up nicely. I slopped a little walnut stain on one just because I could. It did ruin the nice little blue speckles, but it really doesn’t look unsanitary. My tired 76 year old “dogs” like the soft feel of these really thick tiles. When I have to lean a nicely finished board or molding on the floor I don’t have to worry about the edges getting all buggered up. No more having to drop a couple of wood 2X2’s on the floor, kicking them around in to position and oh-so gently placing my work piece on them to protect the finished edge. I just sit them right on the rubber tiles. While these mats are a little on the fancy side I plan on getting more for other work stations in my shop. I really like them and highly recommend them.

Although the Trafficmaster rubber tiles are actually for a weight room, I decided to try them in my workshop in front of my workbench. I had tried others before and they didn't hold up well. These tiles are much heavier than the others and I am optimistic that they will last quite a while. I was concerned that the textured surface with be difficult to clean, but a quick pass over them with my shop vac seems to handle the job very well and a touch up with a damp cloth keeps them looking like new. They feel great on my feet and should protect my tools from occasional drops.

Very easy to assemble, all of the tiles are uniform thickness and sizes. Very comfortable under foot and slip resistant. Some of the joints may stick up a bit when first put together but they will settled down with traffic. One box is a nice size for a free weight area. Finished dimensions are 37-3/" x 54-1/8", so not large enough for a barbell or bench. I intended to use this flooring in my daughter's workout corner in the sunroom, which has ceramic tile floors, but had to move it to the garage to "breathe" because the rubber smell was so strong. After almost 2 weeks it is dissipating, but I think I really like it where it is. It will definitely suffice in preventing dropped tools and parts from chipping the slab and is very comfortable to stand and work on. Very happy with it and am planning on getting more.

These rubber tiles look really good! The rubber is tough and the interlocking connectors will not easily rip, tear or otherwise come off. The kit comes with enough corner and edge piece to nicely finish off the sides all around when the square are all connected. The tiles are easy to lock together. Lay one tile down, then the interlocking edge of the next tile is pushed down into the edges of the first tile. It's that simple and they fit tight. It's best to assemble these on a hard surface. If they are put together on medium or high pile carpet, it is harder to push the edges of one tile down into the edge of the other since the carpet works like a cushion and allows both pieces to be pushed down which prevents the two pieces from locking together as easy as when a hard surface in under them. In my photos, you can notice the edges are not quite flush where the tiles come together. This is a result of putting it together on a carpet with a medium thickness carpet pad beneath it. On a hard floor, they fit perfectly flush. The rubber will stay in place on hardwood floors or concrete basement floors so you can create a safe, slip free, professional looking, in-home workout space. With a little creative thinking you can use these for other purposes as well. It is comfortable and versatile enough to be used in pet areas, on a workshop floor or on a garage floor when doing work under vehicles like changing the oil. I initially got these to set up a pet area, but after getting it set up, I think I will use it for my workshop instead. It's very attractive and will work well with shop stools.

These traffic master gym modular flooring tiles are an excellent choice of flooring to protect your floor from damage of the work out equipment but also help cushion yourself and the equipment. The size is good if your only working with a couple machines or weights. If working with a larger room and need more coverage larger mats would be more beneficial. Love the design which makes it easy to connect mats together. Comes with the boarder pieces for a clean look. Durable and strong.

Used 1 box to put in bottom of hubby's john boat... went together easily. He liked the blue specks, now he wants to do the deck on it (I added it last yr). Issues: with 1 box there is not enough edge pieces to finish it out, leaves 1 unfinished edge. One of the tiles was lighter than the rest but that may have been because I had one out and walking on it for 3 days before putting them together. would make a great cushion for kitchen area. If you have quadra-peds it would be ideal for a bathing stall, granted it would take more than 1 box to do that but I am sure the horses/cows would appreciate it.

while I really appreciate that this mat is made from recycled tires, I do not appreciate that it smells like a tire shop and made my small room smell very quickly. I have not assembled it as yet because I have left it out on the patio to see if the smell will dissipate some. It is pretty thick, seems like it will fit together and not come apart at the joints. Not sure if it is durable and will last over time but first impression is that it will.

I received the box “tiles” and upon opening it you will see there are 6 large tiles and the edges pieces that create a rectangular mat. The tiles were easy to put together, it took less than 5 minutes. As expected they seem durable, and definitely produce some cushion when stepping on them or lying on them. I planned to use the piece to move around my garage to lay down on or sit on while working on my Polaris RZR. When I’m not using it I plan on placing it underneath my RZR near the engine. So far it does what it is supposed to do and looks great.

The Traffic master Gym modular tiles were super easy to install. Open the box, lay out the tiles (I used two rows of 3 connected tiles), connect the edge and corner pieces and then you are done. For my 2 rows of 3 tiles with edges and corners measures 37 ⅞" x 54". I placed the tiles in front of of my tool box incase I drop tools they have a bit of padding and also don't make neatly as much noise when working late at night with less chance of waking up my young children. I have not used any similar product, but this was super easy to layout and install. The box has great instructions for both calculating how many boxes of tiles you need for your area, but also how to lay the tiles from the center of room and work out to make it look the best. Only con that I see is a slight smell from the recycled material. I opened the box and left the pieces in my garage for a few days and the smell has dissipated. I don't think this can be made with out the smell but seems to go away quickly.

TRAFFICMASTER BLACK WITH BLUE FLECKS 37 IN. X 56 IN. X 8 MM RUBBER WEIGHT ROOM TILES (14.32 SQ. FT. / BOX) I am using this to place my exercise bike on, so that it will not scratch my hard wood floor, the installation was easy but when it comes to installing the end pieces it can become tricky. I only needed this for a small area so I recommend that before installing this, that you calculate the square footage that you may need to complete your job. I also recommend that you place these in a well-ventilated area for about a week or so, because the rubber smell is still potent during this time.

Received the product in good condition. Opening it, we noticed a very strong smell coming from the rubber. This was so strong, it made our family ill from the noxious fumes. I left the product in the garage for a week to air out, and even then it retained the strong smell. We were not able to use it inside, and decided it would be used in the garage instead. So, it loses 2 stars for the crazy strong rubber smell we could not get rid of after 2 weeks. As for the quality, the material is about a 1/2 inch thick, maybe a tad more. The rubber seems tough enough for a matt under a treadmill or a very light duty weight set. I would not use this in an area that will get constant weight dropping as it is too thin to protect the floor from heavy drops. I was able to assemble the 37 x 53 inch mat in about 7 minutes. The pieces fit together snugly, with no misc. rubber hangers keeping the pieces from fitting. The assembled look is nice, and would accommodate any blue colors in the room. If this was a tad thicker, and the smell not so strong, I would easily bump this up to a 5 star product. It could just be the set we received, so take imy opinion with a grain of salt.

Overall, a good product for an application such as a weight room. Clearly if you put some machines on these pads, they are going to deform the foam, probably permanently. I read some of the other reviews, the box I got had no color consistency problems whatsoever. The pieces fit together every well and tight - they are like jigsaw pieces. One box makes a rectangle 54" x 38". However, that includes the edge and corner pieces (which are included in the box). If you are doing a larger area, you'll only need the field pieces. Figure on 50 1/2" x 34" per box for the field pieces. You'll end up tossing most of of the corner pieces and a lot of the edge pieces.

I have a small shed with a work bench in it. I wanted something that would go in front of the bench to stand on that would offer cushion and insulation. So I got one box (14.32 SQ. FT.) of this "Trafficmaster Black with Blue Flecks" rubber tiles. I know it is advertised for weight rooms, but I thought I'd try it for my work-shed. It was very easy to install. I used a rubber mallet to pound the sections together after I carefully set the notches in place. First I did the big full center tiles and then worked my way around the exterior with the edge tiles. The pieces interlock to each other, keeping the mat secure in one larger piece. It came out just great and looks like its one mat! I may decide to get a few more boxes and do more of the shed floor. See my pictures. (I think It would be good also, in a weight room. Just make sure you buy enough boxes to cover the needed area.)

Recently received this boxed set of gym tiles for review. There is a reasonable chemical odor to the new tiles but it does seem to dissipate in about 24 to 36 hours. If installing an entire room, I would recommend leaving a window open for a day or two after installation. The boxed set consists of 6-18x18 interlocking tiles, 4 corner pieces and 6 straight edge pieces, enough to cover an area larger than 14 sq feet if all of the pieces are used. The corner and straight pieces are offset so that the connection seams of the tiles are held together and the mat is less likely to fall apart if moved. The mat ends up being roughly 3/8 thick which, for most uses is plenty of padding, however the top surface is very thin and looks to wear quickly if the same area is used continuously. It does attract dirt easily and is difficult to keep clean.

I tried to use these tiles up in my kitchen area at a small desk. I have a rolling office chair which can damage my oak floors. The tiles are too soft for this application and the chair will not roll easily. Also, the tiles are out-gassing quite a bit and release a bad odor. My wife told me to use them in the basement. I put half of the tiles on either side of my exercise unit. They are now doing the job they were designed for and the odor is much less noticeable in the basement. They tiles go together easily, just like puzzle pieces and they have a nice look. Just make sure to use them in a well ventilated area unless you like the smell of them.

These rubber tile squares are good quality they are perfect for a home gym. Not quite as durable as the mats you would find at an LA Fitness but they would do the job. They would stand up to regular use of weights etc. the puzzle pieces go to gather to make a virtually seamless rubber mat. the only thing is you may want to let them “air out” in the garage or outside. They have a very strong rubber scenti wish I had let them air out in the garage for a week.

First of let me start by saying the box that they came in was barely strong enough to hold the contents, actually it wasn't.. the box broke apart the second time I picked it up. The edge pieces design on how they interlock is a nice design wrapping the corners and having the other pieces overlap seams. The unit is quite simple to assemble even though no directions were included with mine. Like a big puzzle. That's pretty much the only positive I can say about it... Unfortunately it's on the small size and you would need a few sets of these. My biggest complaint and the reason I cant reccomend these is the odor that is coming from them.. they have stunk up my place, almost smells like burning rubber.

I hit a lot of golf balls indoors throughout the winter to maintain a good swing and needed a mat to stand on. The Trafficmaster mat is easy to assemble and looks great. I'm using it to provide a solid, "grippy" surface while hitting golf balls into a net in my basement. It provides a superior surface and is much better than carpet remnants or even grass mats when paired with the Maxfli Performance Series Premium Golf Hitting Mat (purchased separately at Dick's). I do not recommend hitting balls directly off the Trafficmaster mat. There is however one noticeable drawback -- a strong petroleum-like smell, even after a couple weeks. Hopefully in time this will go away.

The instructions on the box don't make any mention about the edge (6 each) and corner (4 each) pieces also provided but rather only refer to cutting the tiles. Packaged this way the corner and edge pieces are really only practical if you intend to utilize a single pad assembly for a piece of equipment. It might be better to sell corner pieces and edge pieces as separate offerings each packaged for sale as such. I would also point out that the configuration only allows for outside die cut corners - any internal corner has to be made by manually cutting supplied center tiles. I've included pictures of what comes in one box as well as an in process assembly picture to give a better idea of how the pieces interconnect. Note there is a long and short leg of each corner piece with the short leg at the clockwise side (referenced to the outside corner) of the part and long leg at the counterclockwise side. Assembly is fairly easy but to achieve a completely smooth surface that hides interlocking puzzle cuts you'll need to take some time to press these into place - perhaps by rolling the surface. I would also note that assembly will have to be done and used on a hard underlying surface. This isn't really intended to be laid on top of carpet (e.g. if you were thinking of setting a treadmill on top of it in a carpeted room) as that will lead to the parts coming apart at the joints.

The TRAFFICMASTER BLACK WITH BLUE FLECKS 37 IN. X 56 IN. X 8 MM RUBBER WEIGHT ROOM TILES (14.32 SQ. FT. / BOX) is great to put under fitness equipment or to use as an exercise floor. The color is black with a blue speckle. This is a high quality rubber flooring with a nice weight to it as apposed to the foam flooring they make for children to play on. It connects to each other very easily. Each tile is 18 inches square. The box includes 6 tiles, 4 corners and 6 straight edges. I would definitely recommend this product. I will buy more to put under my bowflex.

I have to say, this is one that really impressed me. The material is excellent for durability and cushion and a great modular design. Looks to be based on 16 inch centers. One box is complete for a small workout space and you can combine multiple boxes to allow for a larger space. You can do just a mat size or a whole room. The box comes with corners and edges, kind of like a large jigsaw puzzle without the guesswork. very easy to put down, and take back up. The material is this enough for not just cushion but to protect the floor the floor under it. So basement workout area, or a space in an upper floor. House, apartment, or dorm room. This material would work well over most floor surfaced to protect the floor, and provide a nice surface for a workout. Easy to put down, or if needed to take up and either put away or put somewhere else. A very solid yet comfortable surface. Durable enough for a weight room, esthetic enough to please. Like I said, this actually impressed me and that's not easy. Weight room, workout area, or anywhere you need a solid durable surface. Thick enough to give protection and cushion for you, your equipment and the floor under it. Acoustically in a larger area the material may help to deaden the sound as well. Perfect for any dwelling and activity. Big Plus win/win for all areas. Could find no negative drawbacks at all.

These Rubber flooring tiles are versitile and can be used in many places. I originally got them for my workout area downstairs. They work great, enough cushion for comfort but not too spongy. I am thinking about using a couple of the left over square for kneeling pads at work and out in my garage. I think they will hold up overtime. The color and specks really makes my workout area look like a professional gym. Easy to install, as long as they stay locked together over time I will be happy. I would recommend opening the packaging and letting them air out, in the garage or outside. They have a strong rubber smell when opened up.

I got these tiles to use in my garage underneath my motorcycle and they are great! Right out of the box I loved the look of them, but the odor was horrible! They smell like they have been dipped in kerosene and I got an immediate headache. I quickly took them out of the box and left them in my garage for about a week before the smell dissipated. I can't image using these indoors unless you could leave them outside long enough that the petroleum smell is gone. Overall though they are the perfect thickness and the gritty texture on the top is great for control and stability for underneath my Harley.
