Bring new life to the toughest lawn with the Vigoro Tall Fescue Blend with Water Saver Seed Coating. The coated seeds retain six times more water than uncoated seeds, gradually releasing water back to the plant during the establishment phase. The coating also adds nutrients and fungicide to promote quick root growth and protect the seedlings from disease. This Vigoro mix thrives in sunny or shaded areas and is guaranteed to grow bright, thick grass.

Recommended if you have patience. I anxiously waited for the temperature to rise above 55 degrees before planting and waited for the sprouts to appear in 7-12 days as stated on the bag. I watered 2-3 times a day unless it rained. The first sprouts did appear at the 12 day mark in the one small area that was 100% new garden soil. Now at 14 days the majority of the area planted has still not sprouted. I suspect that the lawn reseeded will fully sprout in the next week or so. The seed is easy to plant and is pre-fertilized.

I used this fescue blend in our front yard. We get a lot of morning sun and afternoon warmth, with little direct sun on the lawn. I find that this blend is a good fit for it. It is easy to use too. While our lawn is already established and has a blend of a lot of differing grass blends, fescue is the predominant variety. I use this semi-annually during the spring and fall to over seed our lawn. I usually give it a shorter cut, seed it, then mow leaving the lawn clippings on the grass to act as mulch. I water frequently and wait about 3-4 weeks before mowing again. This method has always worked well since we already have an established lawn. With a bag of this size, this will last at a minimum two full cycles or about 18 months worth of seeding. Additionally, 50% of the bag is water saver seed coating.

Vigorous Tall Fescue coated seed is perfect for reseeding those areas of your lawn that is thinning. The water saving coating ensures the seed maintains moisture and sprouting is guaranteed. The seed will sprout within 10 days and it's growth rate is very quick. The coverage for the 3 lb bag is 750 sq feet so it will grow in nice and thick so if you patching with other grasses make sure you blend the seed.

I received this bag of grass seed this week to try. However, I have two feet of snow here and cannot plant it. I will tell you that I have used this brand in the past and won’t buy another . It always performs the way it says it will. Last year I used it and had to cut the area I used it in twice as often as the other areas of my lawn. I highly recommend this brand!

I got this particular grass seed because I have had great success with it on my lawn in the past. The coating on the seeds seems to help it retain water and start to grow quickly. Each time I have used it it has filled in my lawn nicely with nice thick green fescue grass. While I did get this early in the season to get an early application down on the lawn to to the current lower temperatures the grass has not started to grow yet but I am confident that this will work very well like it did last season. I think it is a very good high quality seed for a very reasonable cost.

I love Vigoro grass seed. My back yard has a mixture of both long and short fescue grasses. I have been very pleased with the results of seeding with this product in the past. It is good for sun and partial shade applications. The water saving feature is a true asset, as it cuts down on repeated daily daily waterings. Being February, it certainly is not planting time here in Michigan, but in the early Spring, I plan on planting these seeds in a newly made bocce court I've built at our cottage.

Last October I changed the contour of my foundation mulch area which required re-establishing a new lawn edge. I also took the opportunity to level the area with soil/sand mix at the same time. Shopping for seed I discovered Vigoro Tall Fescue Grass Seed Blend with water saver seed coating and was amazed at the quick and high germination rate. After seeding I did spread a light cover of chopped straw and watered according to the instructions on the bag. The new grass grew in lush and thick and for the first time I mowed 5in new grass in just 4 weeks. A little hesitant at first, I wasn't sure the coated seed would flow through my spiker drop spreader but to my delight the seed dropped without clumps and made short order out of starting the new area. Seeing in pic below is believing. It's taken me nearly three years to bring my front lawn and foundation plantings into shape. I also leveled and overseeded several areas around my yard. Here on my homestead, I don't have a lot of time to redo projects. I rely on dependable products that work into my "once and done" schedule. Here in the south we grow tall fescue because of its extensive drought tolerant root structure. And with the wild weather swings we've experienced I needed a dependable seed. With these results with this seed, there's no question the Vigoro all Fescue Grass Seed Blend with water saver seed coating is in my lawn management lineup. I should note the bare spots near the brick border are not die out, I dropped more soil/sand to relevel the areas the sank a little. I'll seed this spring.

We still have snow on the ground here. Good instructions on the bag as to how to seed and ground prep. I will be seeding this in my cattle and goat pasture. Seeds are coated to help retain moisture for germination. Seeds do not have hardly any chaff in the mix, so the quality is very good. When the temperatures warm up, I will seed this and stand backhand watch it grow.

Vigoro’s tall fescue grass seed is just what my tired lawn needed, 1 bag was able to provide coverage to my front and back yard, I have a small lot only .13 acres, I’ve been trying a variety of different products in an attempt to grow a lush long and eradicate the weeds, I’m in zone 7b and the issue is the summer drought that comes, the game changer with this product is the coated seeds than retains 6x the water and is able to disperse it and nutrients to the grass. I was able to fill in all the bald spots in my yard and the grass is so much thicker, in just a few weeks, I cut my grass down to about 3 inches per the instructions

You can always trust a grass seed made by Vigro so I am excited to try the Vigro Tall Fescue Grass Seed Blend when the weather permits this coming spring. It will help any areas that need over-seeding, as well as any bare spots from the winter. This seed is perfect for sun and shade which will work perfectly in our yard as well as accommodating a variety of soil types. The coating on the seeds is an added “Water Saver” which helps to retain 6X more water than regular un-coated seed. New grass should sprout within 7-12 days, so we should have a full and luscious lawn by mid spring. The 20 lb. bag will cover up to 5,000 sq. ft. so the bag will leave plenty left over to use as needed.

My rating is based on Vigoro seeds that I used before. This is a quality company with a quality product. The reason why I cannot rate this product is it is winter and currently snowing. What I like about this product is that the grass will retain more water which means less watering for me. It shows that it is 99.9% weed free. There is also a warranty "Guaranteed to Grow" or your money back. I doubt if you will be needing to use that warranty. I will probably reseed in early April. For those that wonder why I need to reseed if I used Vigoro in the past, it is called Grubs. This seed is a Tall Fescue Blend which may be some what resistant to grubs.

I have used this Vigoro grass seed in the past and have been completely satisfied with the quality and results. The seed holds water to sprout quickly and it is 99.9% weed free. My backyard was worn down from our two dogs plus the ground is tilted towards one side which washes away the soil. We applied fourteen pounds of Vigoro fescue seed and now have a lush lawn. Now with this bag we will seed the front yard. I would recommend this brand of lawn seed to everyone.

With an upcoming spring re-seeding project to do I choose this Vigoro blend for its water saving aspects. The affected area is a ditch bank that gets all sun but is also easy to water and in good heavy soil. Past luck with using vigoro products has taught me that they make an effect seed when following instructions. Good germination is expected within 10-12 days.

Maybe half of what was planted has sprouted. I broke up the soil, added fertilizer and water twice a day, still maybe a tad over half is growing.

Grew in very patchy! I put down more seed than the bag said I needed so this wouldn’t happen g! Germination was much long than bag said. I used starter fertilizer and have a sprinkler system so keeps ground moist was not the issue. Wondering if it was old seed. I would not buy again.
