This is the exact eight inch globe I was looking for. I couldn't find it at the competitors store, but HD had one, which is exactly what I needed. I've bought several of these in the past because they are breakable. I'm grateful HD had one in stock. I hope they restock them as they are the only local source I'm aware of. The price was reasonable as well. Thank you HD.

the globe is a little bit bigger than the original...
the globe is a little bit bigger than the original one that broke. It did fit the opening for the light fixture but the chains don't hang straight down, they bow around the globe. It looks a bit awkward but it is better than lookiing at a bare bulb.
