I want to chuck this one out the door every single week. Here's what you can look forward to: - Constant crashing and rebooting. - Inaccurate date and time. - Crashes that freeze everything while allowing the heating to continue. So that stick of butter explodes all over because the stop button doesn't work, and opening the door on a running, *malfunctioning* microwave is not a healthy life choice. - Unreliable kitchen timer (and everything else). - Fingerprint smudges galore.

However, I have a major problem with the clock it shows the wrong time constantly then at times it reboots itself. Just thought you should know, Whirlpool makes high quality products so I’m very surprised this has happened.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This OTR Convection Microwave was purchased to replace a previous Whirlpool unit that died. I would have been thrilled with a direct replacement, but this - OMG - exceeded my dreams. The learning curve is a little steeper, but the performance is outstanding! Baking, steaming, simmering, microwaving have all been flawless. I love that I'm going to be able to access it with my phone! The WiFi setup was simple. I love the menus . . . the full color is really fun. The self clean program is much faster and better than the previous unit. My only wish, that we didn't have to cut a hole in the wall to use the recessed door handle. It's a tight fit.

I love the design of this microwave, that's about it. I've had the door replaced at least 3 times because the display freezes or goes black. I've had the magnetron replaced too. As I write this review the door and magnetron need to be replaced again! The microwave is 1.5 years old, lightly used in a 2 person household. Stay away from this beautiful mess of a product.

Good, overall. The technology, although not fully explored, is great. Discovered after installation that the lower left corner of the door (on the hinge side) scrapes the frame of the microwave upon opening and closing.

Fantastic techno-Oven. The day and age really made use of technology when they built this oven. I have not yet used all the functions, but I can already see that this almost enables me to just put something in and walk away. My husband installed it himself, it came with a cut-out plate to mark where the screws go, the hole for the plug, and the Mounting hardware. But the oven itself is amazing. It has advanced capabilities to cook, reheat, melt, make popcorn.... **See the pics below** A very large interior, with a extra shelf if needed, convection baking, Roasting, Boil and simmer, and a keep warm. The range hood has a very strong exhasut, a two setting bright light and a steaming. We used the steaming last night for mussels and butter garlic sauce. Made the whole dish in the Micro, and mot important!! NO MICRO-FOOD TASTE!!!!

Welcome to the future! This whirlpool microwave has SCAN TO COOK technology!!! You simply open the Whirlpool app and scan the barcode of the food you are going to cook. The microwave automatically adjusts to the necessary cooking temp and time! This thing does so much. It is a microwave first and foremost, but then you get oven type of use from it, as well as so many other features. Too many to list!!! The vent fan is super powerful and provides a lot of great ventilation. Install is not that easy, especially if you are coming from a different brand microwave to this one. Since it mounts into the cabinet, you need to drill new holes, etc. We have granite back-splash which makes it even more difficult. I highly recommend you have it professionally installed. First test of the new microwave: POPCORN. That is always the true test of a great microwave. Verdict: PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS. The scan to cook made it pop perfectly! It looks beautiful in our kitchen and we enjoy the fingerprint resistant stainless steel. Less cleaning always makes me happy!

The single glass panel containing a touch screen and 6 "keypad" options gives this microwave a very elegant, clean appearance. At first I thought this had too many features to be truly useful, but I now realize that I can select / scroll through and use only what is needed. What I find really useful is the ability to create your own “favorites” that are memorized and displayed - eliminating re-entering routines that you often use. Additionally the “favorites” are time specific (which you can modify) e.g. only breakfast / lunch /dinner are shown during specific time periods (snack times can also be shown). The menu items are very easy to understand and some features such as the self cleaning function, provide an on screen display explaining the procedure - so you do not need to refer to the instruction manual - see photo. If for some reason you are in a sub menu and do not continue - the display will revert to the main menu display in 60 seconds, then 60 seconds later it will go back to the default clock and date display There is one small but annoying feature - we use the “Kitchen Timer” (not the “Cook Duration” timer) for steeping tea bags - when the Kitchen Timer chime alarm sounds after the selected time period - the screen gives you two choices - either select “STOP” or the back screen arrow “<” (or press the POWER/CANCEL keypad) and you think you have exited the Kitchen Timer function. Unfortunately no - after a minute the display returns back to the Kitchen Timer screen, and continues to sound the chime alarm until you select either “Dismiss” or “Cancel”. The “Dismiss” or “Cancel” screen does not appear immediately after the the Kitchen Timer finishes timing - you literally have to come back after a minute to stop the chime alarm - The other option - you can choose to remain at the microwave and after 2 minutes the display will show the “Dismiss” or “Cancel” dialog screen.

The option of cooking two meals at once is perfect for us. My husband was on the verge of buying a toaster oven and me not wanting another appliance searched high and low until I found this! It is perfect. I can toast up a baguette or Texas toast to perfection. The clean display, is simple and easy to use. I would recommend this appliance to anyone juggling meals and needing a dependable appliance.

This is an okay microwave - but from day it was installed, it just wouldn't stay connected to the internet. Once set up for wifi,, First 3 or 4 months, it would connect on and off several times a week. Since then, it just will not reconnect at all thus making the app and Alexa ability useless. It will do the remote connect to the whirlpool app. And even though I have unplugged it and left it unplugged overnight, hoping it would "erase" the memory, unplugging does resolve the issue. I cannot find any info on how to do a factory reset. Contacted Whirlpool several times - customer service just tells me to unplugged it for minutes then try again. I have several other non whirlpool appliances wifi connected and have no iwifi/internet ssues with any of them. I have At&T 1 gigabyte internet. This is an issue with this microwave and whirlpool just ignores it. Because the wifi does not work, the price of this microwave is way too high for a regular no wifi microwave.

Most above the stove microwaves do not have this and it makes the kitchen tremendously hot. Another reason for this purchase is that it DOES NOT have a handle. Most microwaves have a handle that gets extremely hot while cooking on the stove.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i have had thi unit for more than a year, and i have to say, that this is one nice MW. hooked up to wifi, and it does it all. it is powerful, and fast. i am replacing a Kitchenaid unit, so it had to meet a high bar. i am very happy that i bought it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am still getting used to the convection and combo convection/microwave settings, but I'm loving it. Food is beautifully browned and cooking in less time. I highly recommend this microwave/convection oven.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Microwave seems to work very well, we do like the features but… the fan noise does not decrease at lower speeds, the noice changes to a low hum, we have had to call for service after the first day of use. Also the microwave reboots itself from time to time which is disconcerted.

It restarts at least 1x a day, no googlable fix… seems like theyd have a code upgrade or something. I just unplug and plug it back in all the time. Microwaves shouldnt be this complicated.

Have owned this microwave for awhile now and it has never worked quite right since day 1. Multiple times a week it will either stop in the middle of a cooking cycle, lock up, and eventually reboot. Or sometimes just becomes totally unresponsive and has to be unplugged to reboot. Even then when it boots back up the time will be completely wrong even though it is setup on Wi-Fi and the date/time is set to auto in the app. You have to go into the app, unselect auto time, and then reselect it.

I liked the nice surprises of remembering common cooking lengths for the time of day. Didn't like the microwave occasionally "rebooting" when I go to cook, apparently because WIFI dropped it and it didn't reconnect until it was asked to cook something (I think that is what is happening). I like the feature of using the app to scan package bar codes to determine cook times, but I have yet to find a bar code it had in its database.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was looking for a convection microwave to replace an older Samsung unit I had. This is a larger unit, and thus far I’m happy with it. It has some nice features such as the temperature indicator while preheating in bake mode. Controls took getting used to, since it’s all touch screen driven, but my husband likes it better since he does not typically cook and the steps make it foolproof.
