Received in good condition and I assembled - oil and gas added. Was looking good and started with first pull. My happiness lasted for about 15 seconds then the monster died and was stone dead. Aha! Their support must be able to help! Wrote an email explaining my problem. Quickly got an answer back the next morning where support asked me to call back. Great service, and I called back and had to explain again what the problem was. Not sure if she was listening because she sake if I had gone through the troubleshooting procedure. I had, so she asked me to take the compactor to a 'Small engine Repair Shop' near by where I live. Yardmax would pay for the repair. In awe over the answer I ended the conversation with 'Technical Support'. That evening I wrote yet another email, explaining again and told them to arrange a pickup, repair and delivery. Next morning I got the exactly same auto answered email as the first time letting me know that 'Technical Support' is not reading the emails. Now, this machine is not one to put in a paper bag and deliver for repair so having some knowledge about small engine myself, I decided to take it apart to find the problem and ½ hour later the compactor was up running like a dream. Their compactor itself is nice when it works. BUT, BUT, BUT - YARDMAX so-called 'Technical Support' is dragging the rating to a big round 0. So, now I am expecting their standard answer to bad rating. 'Sorry bla-bla-bla.... please call our support......

the equipment is not in use yet, we bought it to replace the current one, which is already useful at the end.

It works great for big and small jobs

The plate compactor is great. Excellent power for the money. Great value. The HomeDepot delivery was got good though. The box was busted and leaking oil when it was delivered. The compactor has a torn handle pad and a dented handle bar. Very disappointing to receive damaged goods, even if I am going to eventually damage it on the job anyway.

Pretty easy to assemble - although it was a bit weird that the bolts/nuts for the handle were a different size from the bolts/nuts for the wheel mechanism. Instructions didn't include bolt/nut size - think for one set, it was 16mm and 15mm. Other than that - I have 2 other gas engine powered machines that basically use the same horizontal shaft engine making it straightforward for adjustments/repairs, etc. Comes with an oil drain hose attached - until you've changed the oil in a machine like this that DOESN'T have one - - - you can't imagine what a FEATURE that is!

Runs great and not rocket science, fits in tight places and you can lift with one person, not many parts that can come apart from vibration.

The machine lived up to expectations.

Used when I built paver patio and front and back paver sidewalks. Used on gravel and pavers. Did OK. If you want pad get the one for this compactor. I bought a “what others bought with this” pad and it worked but I had to drill some new holes to make it fit. Wheels are great addition. Wire cage broke after 3-4 hours and screws holding it were loose when I unboxed compactor. Would buy again.

I was tired of renting heavy, expensive compactors. This was perfect for me. It Is strong enough for what I need it for and light enough to load and unload by myself. Great for compacting dg for synthetic turf, walkways and pavers. I would recommend this to other landscaping contractors.

Fell apart in less than an hour. I returned it. Home Depot is good this way. Thank You.

This unit has only 30 minutes run time, but seems to work just fine. It has decent power for what it is.

I wish you sold the plate cover as well

Can't change my nickname. I was very pleased with the ease of assembly. The compactor ran great and did an excellent job. I guess I can't comment on the bad shipping oh well.

Easy to assemble. Works great. It is the smallest so it does take longer.

We bought this to compact our shop floor before it was poured. Worked great and was a cheaper option than a rental for time we needed it.

Love it. Works as l new it would.

Had 3 screws vibrate and back out in first 10mins of use. Seems to be working fine after I tightened with loctite but still under an hour of use. Don’t have much confidence in it holding up for long.

The product is just what I ordered. the 1850 PSI was too small, and the 3500 PSI was too big and heavy. I strong person could easily pick this up and place on pick up with ease and no risk to injury. . The wheels have really made life easier in mobilizing. I highly recommend tru fuel in these machines whereas the ethanol in todays pump gas is nothing but trouble (unless you use this daily). the price was perfect too. (Take caution when ordering the finish rubber pad). lots of choices and the one I purchased was too big and the correct one was out of stock. I was able to manipulate the pad and bracket to work but, in a desperate time, you may not have this option.

The first time it was shipped there was no unit in the box, just the handle and oil. The 2nd time it was missing hardware to be able to fully put the unit together. After a trip to the local store the unit is up and running.

I am very satisfied. It’s not too heavy and it’s strong enough to do the job. I’m a landscaping contractor and I was tired of renting. It worked great for compacting DG for synthetic turf, walkways and patios. I’m glad I bought it.

Excellent machine, very well built. Was missing a bolt but no big deal. Started on the 3rd pull. Has roughly 11 tanks of gas run through it and works great.
