Disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First let me say that I love this rug and have ordered it before in smaller sizes. This time, the very cumbersome 12 x 18 has so many trouble spots. I know sisal is natural isn’t perfect but this one is in rough shape. The photos explain better. I am overwhelmed with the process of returning such an enormous tug.

Very pretty!
It’s very beautiful and I think will hold up in the long haul. However, it’s not comfortable to walk on at all! Very scratchy. I will be layering with a nice soft Karastan rug which will contrast beautifully with the seagrass base. For a bottom layering rug, I’d say it’s really great. Also, I ordered a 9 x 12 and it’s not quite 12’ which was a little disappointing. But for the low price I am very happy.

Stepping on this rug is uncomfortable
I have ordered rugs before and been very satisfied but my recent purchase is very disappointing. There are many “prickly” pieces sticking up from the rug. Also having a problem keeping one corner to stay down.

We are sorry to learn about this! Sprouting is a common occurrence with natural fiber rugs, like jute, sisal, and seagrass. Sprouting refers to loose rug fibers that poke up out of the rug surface. Do not pull these; snip them down to the surface of the rug.

Better than expected
Beautiful rug! Soft to the touch, looks more expensive than the photos show. The pop of teal was just enough visual interest while still being subtle.

Used as stair runner. Worked well.
Used as a stair runner. I got two 14ft runners for 16 steps. With two big German Shepherds, seagrass is the only material that holds up for years never looks dirty, never stains. The weave is not the best, I used a glue gun for some pieces of grass that weren’t woven in completely. It worked great. This weave is better than the herringbone weave, because it’s easier to bend over the bullnose of the step. I was lucky, both rings came from the same dye batch and matched each other perfectly.

Seagrass rugs
I love the look of the rugs, but they will not lay flat after 1 week. They also have a lot of knots that stick up and show, especially in the 8x10 size. They are thick loose ends of the fibers. The binding matches perfectly and I am happy about that. I just wish they would lay flat. They are a tripping hazard, for sure.
They are also not very soft under foot.

We understand creases and bunching can be a pain when receiving a new area rug. These are normal and will flatten within 2 -3 weeks as you begin to use your new rug.
Use these tricks to help flatten your rug:
Back Rolling: Roll the carpet out, then roll it back up reversely with the backside up. Let it sit rolled up reversely for a day or 2, or until it flattens out.
Heavy Objects: Lay a piece of heavy furniture or objects on affected areas for a day or 2, or until it flattens out. If the corners are sticking up, curl them back and place heavy objects on affected areas going the opposite way.
Heat: Use this technique as a last resort only. Place the rug over a cleared concrete or area like a driveway or sidewalk setting during dry sunny conditions. Allow the rug to be positioned for optimal sunlight as long as possible to give the rug time to absorb the sun's heat for up to 2 hours, but use more time if needed.
Blow Dryer: If a large concrete patch with optimal sunlight is not accessible, flip the rug over and use a hair dryer to affected areas to heat up the creases. Always hold the hair dryer 7 to 12 inches away from the rug going side to side on a medium setting, as heat can sometimes cause backing to melt.

Corners won’t lay flat
I’ve have these mats for months and still have to put weights on them to try and make them flat! I’ve turned them over, reversed rolled them without any luck. I do really like the look of them besides them not laying flat

Well Made Rug, Beautiful Texture
This is a well made rug with a beautiful basket weave pattern that adds the right amount of texture to the open concept kitchen in our lake house. There was no odor to the rug at all when I opened it. The only problem I had was getting the short edges to lay flat, but they did so on their own after a couple of days unrolled. It does shed a little but I've owned seagrass rugs before so know to expect this for the first few weeks after unrolling it. Otherwise, if it lasts as good as it looks and holds up well to foot and pet traffic over time, I'll come back and update to 5 stars, but couldn't honestly give it 5 stars until I know how well it wears over time.

Not bad….
Good enough…. My last one was from Natural area rugs who I can’t find. The quality was way better. Tighter weave heavier backing, solid all around. This one has a looser weave. Backing is not heavy enough to keep it in place and the corner binding is too thick. I have tripped on it several times. Will need to tape it down. Paid the same as the last one. But overall looks nice.

Really 4 1/2 stars
Love, love, love this rug. Color is great. Actual measurements are 7'8" x 11'9"; fine for my room. The odor is seagrass - not unpleasant. As it's in my living room, where most people will have shoes on, the feel underfoot isn't so important but I don't find it uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. I would deduct the half star as the rug comes folded vs rolled. Note the visible fold. We'll reverse fold for awhile if it doesn't smooth out in a week or so but didn't have the time now.

Our seagrass rug
The rug looks amazing. The only challenge was the rolling up at the edges. We finally fixed it with overnight pressure, reverse rolling and Velcro. Other than that- it is lovely. I would have given 5 stars without that challenge. Also, shipping was so fast and efficient.

Great entry door rug!

Nice SeaGrass Rugs
The look of the rug is great. I bought several to go around the house, including a runner and entry rug as well as a large area rug.
The smaller rugs are still not quite flat on the edges causing them to get tripped on or completely come up under my front door, which is annoying. I had them under several heavy books to flatten the edges but the cloth edges don’t have the sticky backing like the rest of the rug. Overall I’m happy with the rugs, I’m thinking I’m going to have to tape down the edging by the door to prevent it from lifting when the door opens.

The perfect anchor for our master suite
Sets the right tone to anchor the master bedroom. "Seaside" theme on the shores of Lake Superior. Some may find the grassy smell annoying, but we're quite fine with it, and know it will be gone before long.

Sturdy rug
Shipping was fast. I was looking for a sturdy rug that would hold up in a high traffic area. This natural fiber runner will do the job. I got the matching oval to have a common look for the area. Both came tightly rolled and even though I left them unrolled face down for several days and then turned them over with weights on edges for another several days they both still needed to be double taped down. I’m hoping they will last for many years.

Nice natural rug
This rug works nicely in my spare bedroom. Be achy theme so I opted for natural materials. A few of the “knots” needed to be reworked/flattened, but not a real big issue. It took quite a while for it to flatten at the edges, I used heavy books and furniture to weight it down.
