Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

When does The Home Depot Labor Day Sale start at the Flushing store?

Visit our store from August 27th through September 9th for The Home Depot's Labor Day Savings Event. Prepare to enjoy cooler temps with Labor Day savings on appliances starting at $399 — with free delivery on appliance purchases of $998 or more. We've got deals on ladders, outdoor lighting, and other DIY must-haves. Remember to check out the savings on furniture and all things bath, too. We have everything you need to refresh your home before the holiday season. Wrap up your summer right and move on to autumn with our Labor Day bargains.

What do I need for my dorm?

We have all your dorm essentials. Utilize our moving boxes or storage containers to transport your belongings, and be ready for residual dirt with disinfecting wipes and cleaning supplies. Bring a tub of spackle to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang string lights and wall art. Make the room your own with area rugs and wall decals. Extension cords and power strips let you place lamps, mini fridges, and microwaves where you need them. If you didn't get a new school backpack yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head back to college with helpful products from your local Home Depot.

What home repairs should I make before summer storms hit?

Be certain your home is set for relentless summer weather by replacing faulty components of your home. On your home's exterior, inspect roof shingles or metal roofs for rust or damage that may let water leak inside. Keep gutters functional and clear to prevent overflow from backing up into your home when storms arrive. Chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're in poor condition. Also, check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. If water gets in the cracks, you might be dealing with damage.

Do you carry small moving boxes?

Make storage or moving easier by picking up an assortment of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like TV and wardrobe boxes. Cushion your items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those as well.

Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?

Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements take it out. When exploring different generators for sale, remember that inverter generators are pricier than portable generators, but they're also quieter and cleaner. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.

Do you have wired or wireless doorbell cameras?

Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window when you can see human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you speak to whoever is at the door via your phone, a useful interaction for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.

Which project will be featured at the free Kids Workshop?

Head to the Kids Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on September 5th. Give your children a taste of the joy of building with this cool pint-sized school bus organizer. Putting together this useful organizer is a great way to encourage listening abilities, fine motor skills, and creativity. Team up with your kids to make this fun craft while supplies last.

bought an unsuitable refrigerator, and it's very difficult to return it.
I bought an unsuitable refrigerator by less info by the salesman in Home Depot on 02/25/25, but very difficult to return or replace it, due Home Depot not willing to pick up, and as over 70 yrs old I don't know how to find a vehicle to return it safely.

      Fantastic Service & Well-Organized Store
I always have a great experience at this Home Depot. The staff is consistently friendly and goes above and beyond—they don’t just tell me where an item is, they actually walk me to the aisle. The store is well-organized, so everything is exactly where it’s supposed to be. Plus, the checkout process is always quick and convenient. Highly recommended!

            Needs change
It's funny how home depot has so far away from Homer's original vision. The self checkouts should be taken away. And cashiers put back to work. Stop feeding into something that is going to be the end of humanity as we know and love our freedom. Not only America around the world is feeding AI for the take over. Home Depot please be a patriot not someone feeding the issues coming.

              Great Store to shop in!!!
I have always gone to the Flushing HD, They have what I need and the associates are friendly and helpful. The store in College Point is bad, they don't have people there to help you when you need it. They don't stock enough on the shelves. They need to shut that store down.

                disrespected and frustrated experience
I would like to share a disappointing experience during my recent visit to one of your stores, which left me feeling disrespected and frustrated as a long-time customer. I was attempting to purchase the Husky 3-piece tool bag combo — a promotion that clearly advertised three different sizes (12", 15", and 18") at a bundled price. However, when I brought it to checkout, the staff questioned why there were three bags and seemed skeptical about the price. I even showed them the promotion directly from the in-store kiosk, but my explanation was dismissed without much consideration. To make matters worse, I was also denied the use of my tax-exempt status, which I’ve used consistently across various Home Depot locations throughout New York State and City. I was told this was the store manager’s policy — a confusing and frustrating deviation from what I’ve experienced statewide. This inconsistency made me feel unfairly treated. By the time I was asked to pay by credit card, I seriously hesitated to complete the transaction. I didn’t feel confident or comfortable proceeding with the purchase, especially since this was a Father’s Day gift I was buying for myself — something I had hoped would be a rewarding and simple experience. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously. I value Home Depot as a resource for my projects, but this experience has made me question where I choose to shop moving forward.

Customer service is not available anymore
I have been shopping at this Home Depot for more than 30 years. Unfortunately the customer service is deteriorating. There’s fewer and fewer people to help.
