Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

Is there a sale on shelves and storage bins?

It's time to save during our Garage Storage Sale. Find great deals on storage bins to group your belongings, then stack them on new garage shelves. Organize your tools in tool chests and keep tools and treasures hidden from sight with sturdy garage cabinets. Save up to 15% off select garage tool storage solutions and 20% off select storage solutions. These bargains run online and in-store from June 22nd to August 18th only, so don't miss them.

What school supplies does The Home Depot have?

If you're a teacher shopping for back-to-school, come see us. From maintenance like disinfecting wipes and office supplies to the fun stuff for art projects, we've got it. Writing utensils and Command hooks? Check. Hot glue sticks for glue guns? We have those, too. Find cleaning supplies, storage containers to keep it all organized, and more tissues and paper towels than you could possibly need — because you'll end up using them all. We support our teachers, so stop in to get any missing school supplies.

How can I prepare my home for summer temps?

Make certain your home is set for relentless summer heat by repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your house, inspect shingles or metal roofs for rust or damage that can let water in. Keep gutters fully functional to prevent excess water from backing up into your home. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're in poor condition.

What kinds of moving boxes do you have?

Make storage or moving easier by picking up an assortment of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like TV and wardrobe boxes. Cushion any and all items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Remember to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.

Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?

Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with severe thunderstorms or tornados, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements take it out. When browsing generators for sale, remember that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.

What benefits do doorbell cameras have?

Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cameras even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed.

When is the next free Kids Workshop?

Don't miss our Kids Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on 9/5/26. Give your children a taste of the joy of building with this cute pint-sized school bus organizer. Putting together this colorful organizer is a great way to encourage creativity, listening abilities, and fine motor skills. Team up with your little ones to make this fun craft while supplies last.

1/3 isles closed as employees hangout
Rude staff, would not let me look at materials unless I told them what I wanted

    Not happy.
I have been waiting three months for screen doors to be put into my house, the lady that's supposed to come out to measure. To make sure it will fit does not show up makes appointments and doesn't show. I go into the store every week. And they act like they don't know what to do about it. It's ridiculousThey need to do something they need to hire somebody else that wants to do the job.\nIf they want business , i'm about ready to go somewhere else.

        Store is an absolute mess
I’ve lived in this community my whole life been actively shopping at the Yakima Home Depot for the last 20 years this store has turned into a dump the last 10 years or so there is no organization random products on pallets fill every isle you can’t push a product cart down the isle because of this often times when looking for small items like pvc fittings or pex fittings everything is just jumbled together. The load out area is an absolute nightmare instead of manning the area and only allowing vehicles in there to get loaded they just allow anybody to park under the cover well these people go inside shopping for an hr so the guys actually needing loaded out with a forklift are left waiting somttimes upwards of 2 hrs just to get in to the load out area. This store never used to be like this do better management

          Non Professional
Having self-checkouts at Home Depot is just Ignorant. Self-checkouts should at least flag for Customer Service on any attempted PO/Job Name sale or Receipt. Pro-X accounts should have cards associated with accounts and passwords. Home Depot needs to know fraudulent receipts can cause a lot of time and thus money for the small Businessperson. I would rather go elsewhere for home improvement products than policing your I.D. system.

Don’t order online expecting to get products same day
Online does NOT bother to tell you at time of purchase that you’ll be waiting weeks for your order to be shipped to the store!
            by
              Stickers with customers name
PLESASE STOP putting stickers with customers names on the surfaces of products being bought. There are already manufacturer stickers that I have to clean off the resideu and scrape the sticker away now I have to scrape and clean more to remove the sticker with my name on it. That is SO NOT HELPFUL.

                Excellent Customer Service in Appliances
My husband and I visited the Yakima Home Depot on Saturday 3/7. We walked in to the appliance department to look at refrigerators and were immediately met with a smile. Corbin the sales associate took the time to patiently listen to our needs and helped research what fridge would be the best in our home. He was so patient and amazing throughout the whole process. Corbin made our Home Depot experience/purchase the best we have ever had! He is both knowledgeable and professional and we appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond to make us happy Home Depot customers!!

                  Self checkouts
The checkout situation at the Yakima Home Depot sucks. There’s only self checkouts. You're fighting for space with customers carrying long items. When you get to a computer it may or may not work.
