Why is my door drafty?
If you have cold air seeping in under the door, check your door sweep, the rubber piece on the door bottom, for cracks and missing pieces. Replace it if needed. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

What projects can I work on when the weather's cold?
When the temps drop outside, it's challenging to work outdoors. However, it may be an opportune time to clean up your indoor workspaces and house instead. A weekend organizing the garage, shed, or basement will pay off when spring comes. You won't have to replace lost hand tools with new ones because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning supplies, and you'll be ready when the weather warms.

How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in a location where snow may occur, it's smart to upgrade or organize your snow removal equipment before a storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor taps are covered and drained, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. Basic preparations like these keep you ready for whatever winter weather hits your area.

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Yes, the Allen store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These in-store events are free and take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am-noon. Registration for workshops is now available online. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to order your kit.

How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent choice for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. Buy gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.

      Great product placement
I went to get yard waste recycling bags. They were easy to find, get, and pay for, and the price was reasonable.

              No Customer Service
Hope you never need a board cut in half…. They refused to cut a 2x6x12 in half claiming they only will use the power saws for plywood. Watched as I had to use a handsaw to cut it myself. Suggest you shop elsewhere.
