How do I stop cold air from coming in at the bottom of the door?

If you have cold air seeping in under the door, check your door sweep, the rubber piece on the door bottom, for cracks and missing pieces. Replace it if needed. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

How can chainsaws help with tree and yard cleanup?

If you've got spare wood and extra wooden pallets sitting unused in a corner, cut them up with a chainsaw in the spring so you can store or dispose of them properly. Spring is a good time to organize the pile of firewood and trim tree branches too. Before firing up your Makita chainsaw, ensure that the chain isn't rusted or dull and that it's been oiled. Then, while wearing the proper safety equipment, use your gas or electric chainsaw to cut the wood. Make evenly sized pieces for effective storage.

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?

Yes, the Columbia store does offer in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. You may reserve your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. The people at this store are great to deal with. They went out of their way to help us.

We bought a washer and dryer set and they were awesome in helping us figure out how to get it ordered and then I wanted a cordless grinder which I could not find because it was Black Friday and a couple different ladies went above and beyond to get me the grinder I wanted. Thank you for being so kind and patient with us.

Home Depot has gutted the once awesome Military Discount

After spending almost 3000.00 dollars this week in HD I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED to learn at the check out that HD has changed its Military Discount Policy. I was told today by the cashier that HD has placed a 400.00 Yearly limit on the discount and now you can’t use it to purchase lumber, Sheetrock or major appliances. I have always been a devoted customer to HD because they support the Military and extended us the 10% discount. I have driven out of my way many times to shop at HD because of the support you have given to the military. When I heard today how the discount had been gutted and the limitations now placed on it I was very disappointed. Most disabled veterans are on a fixed income so we appreciate these discounts because without it we wouldn’t be able to shop there. Now we will be forced to shop elsewhere in search of these discounts because the economy is so bad now…I depended on the discount HD and I wish you would please reconsider your changes and continue with the way things were.

This store provided good customer service, good selection of materials. The only drawback is it is difficult accessing the store. It is in a very congested area of Columbia.

Great customer service

I was looking for a light fixture and did not find it on the shelf. I asked an associate if he could help. He said sure, dropped what he was working on and retrieved the fixture I was looking for from the top stocking shelfs with a ladder. Supper nice.

Good find and friendly

We had a few things to pick up and went through the garden center to check out. Alayna was showing another shopper some pots that were on sale and showed them to us . They were nice and the sale was good so bought a few. Alayna was friendly and we left the store with a smile and excited about our purchase.
