Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

When is the free Kids Workshop this month?
Drop by the Kids Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on August 3rd for this month's project. Building this tiny whiteboard on a stand is a great way to encourage following directions, creativity, and fine motor skills in your child. Team up with your little ones to make this fun craft while supplies last. Don't forget to leave some time to draw and share your art with your fellow artists!

If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you.
