Our Hawaii County exhibit of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall January 22 - 28, 2024 was ignored by the Hilo Home Depot store #8453. Despite many visits to the store and several meetings with the Store Manager by me personally as the Event Chairman. We worked on this event for nearly 2 years as this VVMF.org display has been traveling the Nation for 29 years and supported by Home Depot in other communities many times. Your reputation for supporting Veterans is widely known, but why your Management Staff in the Hilo Store chose to ignore our event was hugely disappointing. We have made a video that is still in post production and could use some financial support as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund .org is using the Hawaii Visit on their National WebSite and as this was the first ever trip to Hawaii (probably will never happen again). This Wall has been displayed in over 750 communities, in each state 20+ times except for Hawaii & Alaska, so this trip to Hawaii was of National Significance. Always checking products and taking good care to customers

Purchased new water heater… JEM was friendly helpful and accommodating… two other floor employees so rude … JEM made up for the unpleasant people and because of her I will shop again at the Hilo Home Depot

Every time that I had to ask questions, the employees are very helpful and courteous, ready to answer my questions, it made a difference for my visits to home depot. Ali and Zina helped me lot on the ordering new stove !

James was very helpful to me. He explained to me as to why this was such a good deal on the washer and dryer. He knew his department very well. I would ask him questions and he knew all the answers. Plus, I am sure if he didn’t know he would find out.

Home Depot is a mandatory stop every time I go to Hilo. I wish this store was the same size as the Kona Home Depot. This store has to work harder because the store is so small. The staff, overall, work extremely hard and are very knowledgeable. Stacy in kitchen cabinets is incredible!! She is brilliant. Renee is one of the employees I seem to run into on many visits and she goes, literally, out of her way to help. It doesn’t matter the department, she helps every time. I am so sorry, I had a list of loaders that have helped me a lot squish everything in my van while getting all sweaty but since I haven’t been able to do surveys I lost their names. So sorry guys. Incredible what this store has to do with such a small space. The staff really has to work together to make it happen everyday.

I would like to recognize Oliver who worked in the Lumber department on Friday,12/12/25 about 6:45am. He was very busy loading posts on a cart, but stopped to ask me if I needed help and then proceeded to show me the different kinds of lumber. He even flagged down another worker to help me find purlins. He stayed with me until he was sure I had found everything I needed. Oliver provided excellent customer service and is a great asset to your store. It would be wonderful if all of your employees showed the same kind of friendliness and professionalism. Mahalo Oliver!

Worker named Angela went above and beyond help me with my return, she works at the return desk I’d be screwed if she did help me figure my situation out…

EVERYTIME I SHOP AT THE HILO HOME DEPOT, THE EMPLOYEES AND CASHIERS ARE ALWAYS SO HELPFUL AND VERY NICE. ITS A MANS TOY STORE I TELL MY WIFE. I LOVE COMING HERE.

I bought a Xmas tree as I do every year we are home. However this year I couldn’t find my Xmas tree stand and tried to buy one at Home Depot on December was told they were out of stock but I could buy a tree and lean it against a wall. Unacceptable

Convenient well stock store,could use more floor helpers

Didn have much choices for chess freezer.

Placed an order online. They canceled it due to not finding item. Online qty said 6 in stock. Went into store customer service. The first person who helped checked to see why the order was canceled. Told me that online was inaccurate and that it was out of stock. She didnt go check the floor. Just read the comments from my order cancelation. Candy came over and went above and beyond to check without anyone asking her to. She found my item that i was looking for. That is amazing customer service.

I special ordered a window and the process was seamless. I had an expert in the special order department who very helpful

Security screen door. Person who helped me was very grouchy and snapped at me. Cashier kept skipping over me moving from register to another register it made me very angry.

ALL THE WORKERS AT THE HLO HOME DEPOT were HELPUL,KNOWLEDGABLE and HARD WORKERS! We came from the main land and were stressed out about setting up Star Link and purchasing a refrigerator for the renter. They worked hard to meet our needs. A huge RELIEF

Hilo has less stock than kona so you won't find a bunch of products here. Customer service is ok, however if you need something within a timely matter and it doesn't require the forklift or multiple people to get something, you are better off doing it or getting it yourself. It's the only option in hilo for building and construction products that don't cost an arm and a leg. But product availability and diversity is limited and limited to hawaii.

Always too much crap in the aisle. Buy wood last and only buy wood. Buy everything long together. Pushing the wood in the wood cart around will not help. You will likely knock stuff over to have to move it. Hawaii has some beautiful local woods that are NOT available. Why? Nothing to even support Hawaii beyond hiring people. I would like to see more local products. Less crap. Clean up the aisle. Safety issue.

Home depot might be great for contractors but for the average homeowneer who needs a fridge or stove ASAP...its worthless.

Refer back to my previous comment and fix it.

HD description “ Expandable Gate Kit includes all hardware posts sold separately” Totally false in that this is an incomplete kit. It Does NOT include the post side hinges, just the less expensive gate side. The actual product says these aren’t included, but the HD description needs to be accurate. Now I have to make a separate 40 mile trip just for the hinges.

I came in not feeling well, I’m 80 and needed help. I was treated extremely rudely by a woman associate in plumbing who seemed to resent that I’d even ask for help.

Greatful having Home Depot in Hilo where supplies for different home activities are nearby instead of in Kona. We were looking for products for future projects at home. Couldn't get them now as we had our vehicle not a truck. Associates are very helpful and friendly , love the holiday displays and items. So many possibilities.

Most of the employees that work (not all of them) walk around the store and don’t do the simple things. 1. Greet customers, 2. Seek out customers to help. I couldn’t tell you how many employees I walked by and just looked at me and said nothing.

I bought a sink and cabinet, the got it down from above with a lift. Everyone was very helpful.

Making things easier for me

Kalai the tool department associate guided me to the cement cutting wheel. I finished my job in 2 days. Thank you home depot for having Kalai to guide me in what I needed . Thank you Kalai !
