Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you carry talking Halloween decor that moves?
Yes, we carry several kinds of Halloween decor that make noise and/or move. Our Halloween animatronics bring frightening characters to life. Scare your neighbors when your decorations move and talk. This includes current favorites like Dean the Deathologist and Skelly, the 12-foot skeleton. For more drama, use a fog machine or two to veil the animatronics until they start to roar or cackle.
Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise while they create less power. When browsing generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
What home repairs should I make before winter?
Ready your home for winter weather by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be headed for trouble. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine roof shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if they're in poor condition.
What are some storage solutions for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow unused items to free up space. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. Shoe storage and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've dreamed of.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Purchase gift cards at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit the I-10 Bullard Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.
