The Home Depot Rental Center at Mcdowell

When it's time to make the leap into a new home improvement project, you might not have everything you need in the shed or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Phoenix Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.

Tool Rental
Start your DIY project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let our Tool Rental Center in Mcdowell expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available to purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.

Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your yard. Fall will be here in no time, so have a leaf blower ready. It's much easier than raking. It's also easier on driveways, concrete sidewalks, and hardscaping surfaces. Choose from backpack, walk-behind, or handheld leaf blowers.

Insulation
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it the right way. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation keeps your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.

Heaters
If you can't stand working or being outside in the cold, check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We offer propane, gas, and electric heaters in various sizes. Couple this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the night with the extra warmth.

Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks and cargo vans on hand. Although availability varies by store, we have a selection ranging from pickups to flatbed trucks to cargo vans. Choose the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to know what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I choose how long to rent a truck?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.

When can I bring the tools back?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Do saw rentals come with saw blades?

Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent one. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Some tools and large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't an option, speak to one of our knowledgeable associates for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
