Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?
This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

How do I fix drafty windows?
When your windows have a lot of condensation, mold, or mildew, that's a clue that you need to replace or reseal them. If you can't swap out the old ones right now, seal them with caulk, weather stripping, or a window insulation kit. Clean any mold and mildew first though, and wear a respirator to avoid inhaling it. Fill any other gaps with foam tape and cover window a/c units as well to keep the cold air outside. These steps should help stem the cold drafts until you can replace the windows.
What projects can I work on when it's cold outside?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, a chilly day that's above freezing may be a good time to rake leaves or give the mulch in the garden a stir. A few days organizing and cleaning the shed, garage, or basement will pay off when the weather warms. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.
How do I prepare for snow and freezing temps?
When you live in a region where snow falls, it's smart to organize or upgrade your snow removal equipment before a storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor spigots are covered and drained, too, with all hoses disconnected. Basic preparations like these keep you ready for whatever winter weather brings.
Are Kids Workshops offered at the N Fort Worth Home Depot?
Yes, the N Fort Worth store does offer in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. Registration for workshops is now available online. Each month features a unique and exciting new kit pack to keep little doers engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to order your kit.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular present during the holiday season or for any special occasion. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. Purchase gift cards at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit the N Fort Worth Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.

Great store and good value
A wonderful employee helped me get a Home Depot credit card but in his exuberance he forgot to apply my military discount. Other than that it was as always a great shopping experience.

    Bad customers service
I've been a long time customer and this experience had a lot to be desired. If there's a promotion for a product, honor it or don't display it. And don't just say that you have submitted a ticket for it to be corrected and keep displaying the signs, as this will create confusion and frustration to the customer. Especially during this season. Oh, and be at least friendly to the customer after the incident too. If you have to personal problems, leave them home or don't go to work that day if you can't be customer friendly. It had to be said and yes I did. Right Ernesto??
Shopping at this location is always a great experience
