Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?
This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

Can I fix drafty windows?
When your windows have a lot of mildew, condensation, or frost, you likely need to replace or reseal them. If you can't put in new ones right now, seal them with caulk, weather stripping, or a window insulation kit. Use mold and mildew removers first though, and wear a respirator to avoid inhaling it. Fill any other gaps with foam tape and cover window a/c units as well to keep the cold air outside. These steps should help stem the cold drafts until you can replace the windows.
What can I work on when the weather's cold?
When the temps drop outside, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, it may be an opportune time to clean up your home and indoor workspaces instead. A few days cleaning the shed or garage will pay off when spring comes. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.
How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in a location where snow is possible, it's smart to upgrade or organize your snow removal equipment before a big storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Remember to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Make sure your outdoor spigots are covered and drained, too, with all hoses disconnected. Simple steps like these keep you ready for whatever winter weather hits your area.
Are Kids Workshops offered at the Nogales Home Depot?
Yes, the Nogales store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These in-store events are free and take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am-noon. Registration for workshops is now available online. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to check availability.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Buy gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Nogales Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Our gift cards can be redeemed in-store or used to make purchases online with no additional fees.
