Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you stock huge Halloween yard decorations?
Yes, we offer several types of huge outdoor Halloween decorations, including several life-sized animatronics. Make your yard the scariest in the neighborhood with giant Halloween decor options, including skeletons, reapers, and witches. Skelly, the giant 12-foot skeleton, and Dean the Deathologist, a dapper bartender, are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are a quick and easy way to show big Halloween spirit.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with strong winds, severe thunderstorms, or blizzards, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for the winter?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by replacing any faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine roof shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if in poor condition.
What's the best way to store extra holiday decor?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Moving blankets shield fragile items. Shoe storage and other storage bins remove summer belongings from the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice for the holidays, birthdays, and housewarming parties. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. They can be purchased online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you receive a gift card, you can visit the North Avenue Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Our gift cards can be redeemed in-store or used to shop online with no additional fees.
