Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

How can I decorate my home indoors to celebrate Halloween?
Check out our indoor Halloween decorations. We have everything you need for a festive Halloween, including Halloween lights, skeleton decorations, fog machines, and more.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances life throws at you. Whether dealing with tornados, hurricanes, snowstorms, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements knock it out. When considering different generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
Why should I repair my roof before the cold sets in?
Make sure your home is ready for colder weather by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be headed for trouble. Check cinder block and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're damaged.
How can I make more space for the holidays?
As you prepare for the holidays, make extra space with storage solutions. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. Shoe racks and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the right amount of space.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. Buy gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
