Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you have large outdoor Halloween decorations?
Yes, we carry several types of huge outdoor Halloween decorations, many of which are life-sized animatronics. Make your yard the scariest on the block with giant Halloween decor options, including skeletons and witches. Dean the Deathologist and Skelly are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables, especially the big ones, make a huge visual impact.
Do I need a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with strong winds, snowstorms, or severe thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements take it out. When exploring different generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could headed for major repairs down the line. Check brickwork and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Lastly, change vinyl siding and chimney caps if damaged.
How can I make more space for the holidays?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Moving blankets protect fragile items. Shoe storage and other storage bins remove summer belongings from the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the right amount of space.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present during the holiday season or for any reason. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to receive and to give. Purchase them at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
