Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Does The Home Depot have a spring sale?
Our Spring Black Friday Sale is back and better than ever. Save big on lawn and garden as well as outdoor power equipment, then update your patio furniture so you're ready to enjoy the season. Find low prices on tools and kick off your spring cleaning and DIY projects early this year. This spring sale runs from April 3rd through April 16th, so don't miss it.
Do you offer large moving boxes?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make moving or storage easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it there safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with thunderstorms, snowstorms hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements knock it out. When exploring different generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Should I make siding repairs now?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing any faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check cinder block and brickwork for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, replace chimney caps and vinyl siding if they're damaged.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window or peephole when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off potential porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
