Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. What are some Halloween ideas that won't scare kids?
To make sure your little ones aren't scared, find kid-friendly Halloween yard decorations. Halloween inflatables and Halloween doormats are festive solutions that aren't as spooky as many other outdoor Halloween decorations. Remember to update your decor as your kids grow older and braver.
Do I need a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with thunderstorms, blizzards or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When browsing generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
How can I prepare my home for the winter?
Ready your home for colder weather by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be headed for trouble. Check cinder block and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped out if in poor condition.
What's the best way to store extra holiday decor?
As you prepare for the holidays, make extra space with storage solutions. Shoe racks and other storage containers remove summer belongings from the equation. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent choice for the holidays, birthdays, and housewarming parties. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. You can buy gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Sawmill Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
