Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. Welcome to the Steelyard Home Depot. It's a great day to get started on a new home improvement project.
No matter what home project you've taken on, we're here to help you finish it. From boilers to TV wall mounts, you'll find it on our shelves. Let our associates get you in and out. At The Home Depot, we value community involvement. We support Wilson Elementary School.
You can find us southeast of the intersection of I-490 and I-71, across from Walmart and close to Applebee's, in the Steelyard Commons shopping center. We look forward to seeing you in our aisles. Make sure to browse our local ad before you visit to plan for great in-store deals.
Sincerely,
The Steelyard Hardware Store Team
Do you stock large outdoor Halloween decorations?
We have many kinds of huge outdoor Halloween decorations, many of which are animatronics. Make your front yard the scariest in the neighborhood with giant Halloween decor options, including skeletons, dragons, and witches. Skelly and Dean the Deathologist, a dapper bartender, are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are another way to up the drama and create interest.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with snowstorms, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When browsing generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
Why should I repair my roof before the cold sets in?
Make sure your home is ready for winter weather by replacing any broken or faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine roof shingles or metal roofs for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check brick and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if in poor condition.
Are garage cabinets or sheds better for storage?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow unused items to free up space. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Moving blankets can protect fragile items. Shoe storage and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty of it.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular choice during the holiday season or for any occasion. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. Purchase them at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
