This machine is so loud we have to close the door to the room and move to another floor of the house when it’s in use. The worst problem is that it doesn’t fill with enough water to cover the clothes or whatever is being washed. That’s especially an issue in the rinse cycle - and yes, I carefully follow the directions for the amount of soap to use and don’t overload it. I have to add water in both the wash and rinse cycles - a huge pain.

Yesterday, we replaced our 15 year old washer! This is such an upgrade. It’s not too fancy and I love that the Manuel gives suggestions on what to set each setting on for different fabrics. I love the XL capacity too! My only complaint is the sounds it makes. During one setting cycle, it sounded like a duck. I can live with it. I hope I enjoy washing this much a few years from now! It’s so pretty too!

I purchased this washer in March just 9 month ago and it is being repaired for the 2nd time. Ridiculous! What is so sad is I purchased the matching Dryer at the same time and it also has been repaired twice also. What makes GE and this product such a let down is they both had to be repaired within a month after I purchased them n within a few weeks of each other. Needless to say I will not be purchasing another GE washer are Dryer.

Let me first say this, I am so glad I didn't listen to all the negative reviews. I wanted a traditional top loading washing machine that had an agitator. I've always had top loading machines, they have performed well. This GE washing machine is a combination of old school and high tech. Yes, it's a high efficiency machine that makes some beeps and clicks when it is sensing the load size at the beginning of the wash cycle. Yes, it locks the lid during the wash cycle (it's a safety feature folks). But, you can always press the "pause" button if and when you need to add more clothes into the machine. The stainless steel drum is huge. I have never had a washing machine with this much capacity before. I literally go looking for more clothes to add before I start the wash cycle. So far, I have been very happy with this purchase. I am saving money because this machine uses less water and my clothes are being cleaned thoroughly. I also purchased the matching GE dryer. I am so happy with my decision to go with the GE washer & dryer. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
