Q:Since my ceiling are 8'9'' high i thought an 8 foot ladder would be perfect. Now from reading the description , your 8 ft ladder is not really going to get me 8 feet high. It appears that the last usable step is about 69 inches which means that i would have to jump up or try and pull myself up almost 3 feet and even more dangerous trying to get back down. How do you get away calling it a 8 ft ladder when you cannot stand on the top two steps. Even if you could stand on the top - it is a big drop down to the next usable step.

A: The working platform is 69". I'm not sure how tall you are but I am 5'5" and can reach my 12' ceilings. This ladder is 8' at the top where the small tool tray is located. I have the 6' and 8' versions of this ladder and they are both great. I had to get the 8' foot for our new house with the 12' ceilings.

A: you appear to be looking at a shorter ladder.
the platform for the 8ft ladder is the 3rd rung from the top and the 6th rung from the bottom
you can stand on it if you are brave (you will have only 2ft of ladder to help you balance).
the tray is the 2nd rung from the top and you must NOT stand on that.
