Q:Do these screws meet ASTM A153 standards? I used galvanized joist hangers on my pressure treated deck, and the inspector wants to know, “if the zinc coating weights for the deckmate screws are in accordance with ASTM A153. Meaning that the screws are not less than ASTM A653 type G185 zin-coated galvanized steel, or equivalent.”

      A:  Deckmate #9 x 2-1/2 in. Star flat-head deck screws

      by|Apr 15, 2020

A:  i dont know if there is a guide for this but the 2 1/2 inch screw works well.

        by|Jan 27, 2020

A:  I would always want twice the length as your board is thick. A 5/4 deck board is an inch thick, so 2" minimum.

        by|Apr 15, 2020

A:  The Deckmate #9 x 2-1/2 in. star flat-head wood deck screw is a good choice for your 5/4" lumber attached to a 2x6" joist.

        by|Feb 1, 2020

          A:  3"hex screw

A:  Yes. If the wood is very wet, be careful no to drive it too deep. I've used them (shorter ones) to re-plank my deck. They also come in green I believe.
