Q:I want to use this on a basement cement floor. In the bathroom, how do I mount the toilet? direct to the toilet flange on the cement and put these panels around the toilet base. or do I mount the toilet on top of these panels using a flange extension?

Answer This Question

A:  The toilet would be mounted on top of the Insul-Amor and flooring assembly using plumbing extensions, then the flange would be anchored through the subfloor and finished floor into the concrete.

Q:What is the best practice if your concrete floor isn't level? Should your floor be level first?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Omar, For the Insul-Armor panels, the concrete must be flat, as you will not be able to shim the panels. Please use a leveling cement to achieve a flat surface prior to installing this subfloor.

A:  You can get wall insulation with grooves already cut I to it. Actually Dricore makes wall panels as well for this purpose but it?s probably cheaper to just use the ones from Owen?s Corning or similar.

Q:Does Insul-Armor with LVP directly on top meet fire codes? I understand when used in walls, rigid EPS/XPS foam must be covered with a 15 minute thermal barrier (eg sheet rock, OSB). Is there an exception for floors, or does LVP qualify as a barrier?

A:  If applied on a Concrete basement floor, or even a Slab On Grade main level, whatever flooring product is going over the Insul-Armor would suffice as protection since the floor is concrete. Please contact our customer support if you need to discuss further. help@dricore.com
